It seems very ironic that both Redd and John had their lives taken away from during very similar times in their career. They both had MEGA hits during their early careers in TV. Redd with S&S and John with Three's Company. Then they both seemed to have a lull in their careers after they left these very successful shows. Redd came back with "Sanford" and John with shows like "Hooperman" and "Heart's Afire" both neither never came back to their superstar status. Then Redd comes back some years later with his new show on CBS "The Royal Family" with Della Reese. I don't remember much about it but from what i read many people said that Redd was wonderful in this role and had great chemistry with Della. They said this would bring Redd back into TV stardom. The same with John with "8 Simple Rules". It was a breakout show for ABC and brought John back to superstardom back on his old network. They also both died much in the same way...with heart related fatalities. Also from what i understand both died on the set ...working until the very end. God Bless both Redd and John.

 I noticed the coincidences between their deaths. I thought I was the only one.

i noticed the similarities between their deaths too. I watched Royal Family and thought it could be a hit. Redd and Della were great together. He did collapse on the set and Della was with him when he died. I feel so bad for the cast of 8 Simple Rules who was there when John collapsed. R.I.P. Redd and R.I.P. John.

I must admit that was the first thing that came to my mind as well.

Didn't the cast of Royal Family think that Redd was doing his Sanford imitation? That's sad... because they thought that Redd was saying "Elizabeth, I'm coming to join ya, honey"

Yes! I believe Della Reese made that remark on E! True Hollywood Stories. I beleive she said that he was always joking around on the set and thought it was another one of his routines.

Both actors were truly professional at their acting . . . it's too bad that aren't here showing us more of their profession. At least, we have both Three's Company and Sanford and Son to entertain us for years to come.
first thing i thought of too.
