Does anyone have a song, that when they are really sad, angry or just trying to get away from it all, they just hum to themselves?
I just started thinking about this because today I've been a bit angry (in school-I hate ignorance and PE) and I was saddened by john ritter's death-something that I really want to clear my head of, cos I hate being down.
Some songs I use for a while, but others stay with me
I regularly hum or sing to myself:
Put on a happy face (from bye bye birdie)
Some songs from Chicago (sometimes really depressing songs actually get me out of being sad-so I like Nowadays, even though the start of it's real down and slow)
I also sumtimes hum the theme to Dick Van Dyke

There's a few others I can't think off now

"Moments Of You" and "Keep On Smilin" by Rockapella, "I Think It's Gonna Rain Today" and "The Glory Of Love" by Bette Midler, and "The Good Old Days" from Damn Yankees.

well theres always tara's theme.... ;)
"summer in the city"
"maggie may"
"I am, I said"
"fire and rain"
"42nd street"
Just about anything from "gigi", "high society", or "hello dolly"
also a lot of the songs on the newer parent trap soundtrack

I also have my "think song" that i hum subconciously whenever im trying to make a decision or something... the battle hymn of the republic

Politik by Coldplay really gets me into a deep, calm mood. I just zone out, like I'm in a world of my own. It's kind of nice to do that once in a while.

I've never heard 'I think it's gonna rain today'-but you just reminded me of the other songs I like- I also like The Glory of Love, but her song 'Friends' and some other songs of Bettes I really like, they calm me down. Her films calm me down a bit too-she's a great actress and singer.
Also- Good Mornin' from Singin' in the Rain

I usually sing "Faint" by Linkin Park just so I can yell at people. I hate people, especially ones with those stupid bookbags on wheels. School is not an airport.
