I agree. I sort of don't like how the stadium name's are now named after companies. Like Qualcomm Stadium. It used to be known as San Diego Jack Murphy Stadium. Jack Murphy was a late sportswriter for the San Diego Union Tribune. Same thing with Candlestick Park and how it became 3Com Park.

I remember reading an article a year or so ago that Major League Baseball wouldn't allow the Padres to give Sycuan (an Indian casino and a big sponsor for the club) naming rights to the stadium.

On the 26th, I'm going to a Padres/Rockies game. It'll be the third to last game at Qualcomm Stadium. The Famous Chicken (a favorite here in San Diego years ago, I think) is going to be making a final appearance at the Q. Everyone will get a Famous Chicken bobblehead doll. My mother and I got field level tickets on the third base line.

Actually we got lucky. The two tickets my mother got were two that a season ticket holder gave back. The tickets for that game were going fast.

We also might get to play the Blue Jays for the first time. It's not official, though, until November so it's all speculation.

Which happened to come off of the late Padre pitcher Eric Show. I remember watching the clip and you could see Show sitting on the mound, cross-legged. Someone told me that he committed suicide or something.

I think one game that ESPN Classic should air is this one game in August 1984 between the Braves and the Padres. It starts off with Braves' pitcher Pascual Perez hitting Alan Wiggins in the back with the first pitch of the game. The Padres then retaliate by throwing at Perez every time he comes to the plate. In that game there were several bench-clearing brawls, one of which included several fans. There were also a lot of ejections. Dick Williams was fined $10,000 and suspended 10 games for his team's actions. Opposing manager Joe Torre and several other players would be suspended three games each. It's sad but I think the saddest part about it was when Donnie Moore drilled Graig Nettles. Nettles tried to tackle him. I think it is sad because two years ago as a pitcher for the then-California Angels, he would serve up the home run to Dave Henderson that would change the series and Moore's career. Moore, who felt depressed and dejected, shot his wife and shot himself in 1989.

so sad john ritter died. 8 Simple Rules is my favorite current sitcom.

Two great people passed away, one of them being so young, even at 54. I don't think anybody will watch 8 Simple Rules the same way again.

When I was at my grandparent's for a week and a half in August, I had to adjust to their dial-up. But it wasn't really that bad. I adjusted to it easily.

I hate dial up. Mine disconnects all the time and I'm pretty sure it's because my uncle is disconnecting me. :lol:

There was one quote from Suzanne on Larry King Live last night that really got to me.

When she said "John's gone" I had this eerie feeling go down my spine. It really hit me that he was truely gone when she said that. Such a tragedy to loose a great man so young.
