God bless you, John Ritter, for making this world a happier place.
The world lost a great comedian, a wonderful actor and a truly remarkable person. May you find peace.
Funeral Blues W.H. Auden
Stop all the clocks, cut off the telephone,
Prevent the dog from barking with a juicy bone,
Silence the pianos and with muffled drum
Bring out the coffin, let the mourners come.
Let aeroplanes circle moaning overhead
Scribbling on the sky the message He Is Dead.
Put crepe bows round the white necks of public doves,
Let the traffic policeman wear black cotton gloves.
He was my North, My South, my East and West.
My working week and my Sunday rest,
My noon, my midnight, my talk, my song;
I thought that love would last forever; I was wrong.
The stars are not wanted now: put out every one;
Pack up the moon and dismantle the sun;
Pour away the ocean and sweep up the wood;
For nothing now can ever come to any good.

Unwanted Angel 09-12-2003, 08:26 AM My mom just told me that a few days ago John said he missed his father Tex, and couldn't wait to see him again. I guess he got his wish.
Even my moms crying, and what really upsets me is this morning i was watching TC and i said "I would give anything to meet John Ritter." And now i'll never get the chance. :(
THANK YOU FOR ALL THE LAUGHS JOHN. YOU TRULY ARE THE KING OF COMEDY! :crying:

Firefly_Eclipse 09-12-2003, 02:54 PM I want to say that I am very saddened by the passing of John Ritter. :( I have been a fan of 8 Simple Rules ever since my mom introduced it to me last year. I admit that John Ritter is the one who made the show what it is. His character was refreshingly funny.
Though it is hard to tell what actors/actresses are like based on their performances (personality an be completely different), I just always felt that this John Ritter guy had something genuine in him...someone who was friendly, nice, giving, and above all talented and passionate in what he did.
I heard about his death on the news...it was the very first thing I heard when I was awoken this morning. I missed the name but heard the funniest sitcom mentioned and it wasn't until this afternoon my mom clarified it was John Ritter. :(
It's weird because, though I feel sad about celebrity deaths, I usually do not "care"...well, I am not sure how to word that...I just don't feel like something was lost from my life. Like some of the singers that have passed within the past few years, it didn't have an impact on me...but John Ritter's passing has. I'm in shock. I have not been familiar with this actor because I just saw him in the 8 Simple Rules until I caught a Three's Company rerun. It's weird that I feel so affected by this.
54 is a very young age to pass...too young for anyone. I think that's what saddens me even more.
Goodbye John Ritter, I haven't "known" you for long, but it was nice for the short time. Thanks for all the laughs you have brought in my household, as well as others.
.:Illusion:. 09-12-2003, 05:39 PM :clap That was beautiful!

John, thank you so much for making us laugh, ang bringing happiness to our lives. I dont think i will be able to stop crying today. You will forever be missed R.I.P. :(

I wonder if N@N will have a moment of silence before they air the next episode of Three's Company. It's a shame to think the last episode I happened to watch on N@N was the episode in which they pretend Jack is dead. I don't watch the show very much at all, bujt it's a shame that John Ritter died.
Out of respect for him, I hope that they do.
I grew up watching you as a child.. you made me laugh harder than anyone else, and I always considered you one of the very best. Thanks for always bringing laughter into our living rooms. May you rest in peace up there with your father - we won't forget you.
MilOGuy876 09-12-2003, 07:50 PM My prayers are with his family and cast on the show.

I love you John Ritter...RIP, you will never be forgotten :(
iluvwillestes 09-14-2003, 06:53 AM Goodbye John. We will miss you alot. I guess I'm like some of you guys, I don't usually get affected by celebrity deaths myself. But this is definitely an exception. I havent been following John's career for long, only for about a couple of years. I have seen some of his films like Problem Child 1&2 etc. Then I started watching 8SR & I really knew what an amazing actor he was. He was so passionate & down-to-earth. 54 is too young to have your life ending untimely:( But John, you may be in a better place now, but your spirit will always live on in our hearts.
