I am totally bummed right now. I really really liked John Ritter. I was hoping I was just half asleep and heard wrong or something. I just can't believe he's gone now. And to top it off yesterday was his 4 year old daughter's birthday. So sad.

It's just so hard to believe. I'm still hoping someone in the news is going to say "just kidding!" In Good Day L.A., Steve, Dorothy, and Jillian were getting teary-eyed as they spoke about him.

I feel so bad for his daughter. Her father died on her 5th birthday. I will pray for him, I wish him and his family the best.

I was even surprised to learn that he was that old - he looked at least 10 years younger then that.

-and the way he died is just so bizarre! He was on the set of "8 Simple Rules..." and suddenly feel ill because of a heart defect that he never even knew he had.

Things like this really make you realize how fragile and "temporary" our lives really are.

r.i.p Mr. Ritter.

:( Oh, for the love of Pete...that makes it even worse.

Out of all the deaths this year, I think I was most upset and shocked over this one. RIP, John. :crying:

When I saw the news, I was shocked.... It seriously makes you realize how short life is. I mean, he wasn't old or sick and that's just shocking and sad.

Keep his family, friends, and the cast in prayers :( RIP

JUST yesterday, a bunch of people in school were talking about "8 Simple Rules" and "Three's Company", fighting over which was better.

He will be missed.
Shock of the year indeed.

John Ritter will be missed. He was such a talent, and it's such a loss. I'm sitting here in tears reading others thoughts and feelings about him.
RIP, John Ritter
God bless your family during this time :crying:

Sorry to hear that! I heard it on the radio as well on TV that John Ritter died along with country singer, Johnny Cash died too. I watched a "Full House" episode I have on video was "You Pet It, You Bought It" from the marathon I taped last June. It has Uncle Jesse singing the "Three's Company" theme song to a donkey and in the end, everyone was singing the same theme song. I played that episiode to the memory John Ritter. It was aired back around 1994 or 1995 during the 8th and final season just about 8 years before his death. That was so sad.

John was a very well liked actor and person. The O'Reilly Factor has just done a segment featuring Jennilee Harrison and a physician.

From what I could gather, John had a heart condition in his aorta; sort of like an aneurysm that happened suddenly. The aorta is the main artery in the heart that pumps the blood. It was pretty sudden and unexpected. And sad as well. My Uncle Billy had a sudden heart attack years ago and so did my grandfather; both unexpected. John is best remembered for Three's Company, but I believe he also appeared in other quality pictures (Like M*A*S*H and 8 Simple Rules of course).

Johnny Cash also died today. He was in his 70s and had complications of diabetis. He had been in poor health for a while as far as I know. His country singing was very high quality and he could act as well (An episode of Little House was one very good part he played as well as the movie "I Walk The Line").

May God bless the families of both of these outstanding people.

God Bless You John.

God Bless You Johnny.

I used to watch TC a lot when I was younger...I even watch it now. It's really sad, and shocking that John Ritter is no longer with us. He's a comic genius as far as I'm concerned. Recently, I made a topic about how N@N plays TC, TCS, and Cheers too much, and I'm sorry. It was a slam against N@N...not TC. I'm sure Ritter will be missed greatly! Now one more bad thing to say about Nick.....I tuned in at 10pm CDT to see the first ep of TC of the night. NOT ONE WORD mentioned about Ritter! Couldn't they take 4 or 5 seconds to say 'SOMETHING"?? Guess not. Now if they want to do a tribute, they should show an all-day marathon. I'm sure no one would complain about that! Maybe a 3 hour block.

TV Land is airing some stuff on Sunday (Let's hope for some Hooperman) while N@N is airing a TC marathon on John's birthday I believe.

Well good for TV Land. I'm glad one of them is paying some sort of tribute to Ritter. I watched a little of Larry King on CNN earlier and Priscilla Barnes, Richard Kline, and Henry Winkler were on and had some nice things to say. Suzanne Somers was on the phone- she also had some good things to say.

I saw both the John Ritter and Johnny Cash tributes that it was on "Biography" and 20/20 earlier tonight.

:( This truely is a horrible day. I was online this morning before work and didn't see anything about it, but on the way to work, I was listening to Jim Rome and heard that some anonymous emailer said something negative about John and Rome went off on the person saying that it wasn't right, the guy was a good family man, and the guy had just died. I was about to pull the car over right there. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. So I tuned into the other talk radio stations I have programmed in and waited until the news came on and sure enough they mentioned John's passing.

I usually don't get this way about actors passing away, though I have felt sad for some, but with John, I don't know, he just seemed like one of those genuine good people. He never really was part of Hollywood scandals (minus the whole Suzanne Somers fiasco way back when) and you didn't hear people say bad things about him. I think he was one of those rare nice people out in Hollywood. I for one will miss him. I think it is horrible the way he died, and I send my condolences to his family and friends. I think John will be missed by many people and our prayers go out to his family. I just want to say thank you for all the laughs, and you will be sorely missed.

R.I.P.

I still can't believe it. My father told me and truthfully, Johnny Cash was in bad shape, so I wasn't too surprised at his death. But John Ritter, omg, I just felt like I swallowed a brick or something. I spent most of the day just bawling my eyes out because it was so unexpected and I loved John Ritter. He was an awesome actor and he really seemed like he was an awesome person.

And I'm not typecasting, I can see John Ritter in various roles and not see Jack Tripper. But when I heard he had died, I just thought to myself, omg, Jack Tripper's gone. And I felt the same way when Carroll O'Connor died. I thought the same thing, but I put in Archie's name. Because honestly, I look at AITF and I just still can't believe Carroll's gone and now I watch Three's Company and realize John's gone. He was way too young to go. And seeing all the avatars and all the sigs and posts, it's just making me start bawling again.
