It's September 11, 2003. And this time last year was when I first registered to the messageboards. I came here as an escape from the year pryor, and decided to go ahead and start talking sitcoms. Thank you all here for being nice to me and especially for loving "Wings". I couldn't stand it if I were the only Wings fan here. I usually get off of work and then relaxe by coming here. The only thing I hate about my one year anniversary is the fact that it has the date (Sep. 11) of a horrible day in history.

Now for the "And Wings" portion of the post.

It seems like N@N has two different levels of shows:

The A-Shows:
The Cosby Show
Cheers
Three's Company

The B-Shows:
Wings
Perfect Strangers
Family Ties
Coach
All in the Family (Could go either way)

The A-Shows get all the good treatment, good hours, marathons.
The B-Shows just get pushed back later and later and never have marathons. N@N hardly ever acknowledges showing these programs.

Yeah, there was no point to that other than mentioning Wings, one more time.

TVAdam, Happy anniversary!

You know it’s funny, I joined this board about 5 months ago purely on a lark….Wings had started running on Nick at Nite and it perked my interest all over again and I just went on the internet to do a search to see if there were any WINGS websites out there.

(Fortunately Peter is doing a fantastic job of creating one)

I stumbled across this message board and figured, what the heck, I’ll sign in and check it out. The few boards like this I had reviewed I left because it became no fun, VERY QUICKLY. Usually you’d get slammed for either liking a show, or even if somebody else liked the show, they would attack you for being an idiot for liking a particular episode or character or something silly like that, and consequently it sapped all of the fun out of it.

This WINGS board has been a pleasant surprise. Everybody that posts here has been great! From Pilotguy to that special Krista
:mrt: EVERYBODY..... it’s been fun and it is a great diversion and escapism from the realities of life.

I have a personal theory that a “quality show” like Wings brings out the “quality” people as well! It takes intelligent viewers to appreciate a show like Wings, and this message board proves it as far as I’m concerned.

This is a significant day to have your anniversary as 9-11 will never be forgotten.patriot:

But, back to your list…..what is even more troubling is in a few weeks “Full House” and “Roseanne” will be bumping Wings even further down.

Oh my gosh....I've been thinking EXACTLY the same thing!

Not only are the people on this message board pleasant and good-natured, but most of them also have a GREAT sense of humor....There are some "Wings"-worthy one-liners that fly back and forth around here!

patriot: First about 9/11, It is the post World War II generations "Day of Imfamy" that will live in our hearts forever. God Bless all those that protect our country and people from harm.

I agree with all the above posters. The Wings board seems to bring out the nicest people I have ever seen together on the internet. Speaking as a member of any older generation, I would like to compliment the younger members of this board, they are all very articulate in their postings, they seem to be well mannered and not rude to others. I just want to add that your parents should be proud of the way you have grown into young men and woman. I just hope my 2 girls develope in nice people like we have here at our Wings Board.

Now a note to Paramount (whom I believe own the rights to our show) I WANT MY WINGS DVD'S WE ARE TIRED OF WAITING!!!!!

pardon my little rant

EEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!
:D :D :D :D :D :D
Thanks, T!
lol

and yeah! I agree with you all about this board!

Well, I joined also back in April after I was watching Wings for a few weeks, and it all of a sudden became my favorite show.. I did one search for Wings messageboards on Google because I wanted to talk about it with other people, and this was the only Wings board I found, and I decided to join, and I'm very glad I did because not only is it great to have other people to talk to about the show, but you are all so much fun, and no one here is ever rude. It's very hard to find a message board like that online. this is actually the first one I've ever found where everyone always gets along so well. You guys are great!

and blackbeard, if I was one of the "younger" people you were talking about (I assume I am, since me and TVAdam are the youngest ones on the board, both of us being 21), Thank you very much for your wonderful complement!! :D

Has anyone here checked out the "Cheers" message board lately? Those folks are as upset about NICK moving "Cheers" to 1 AM as WE were when "Wings" was bumped to that time slot!

While I do agree with TVAdam's classification of NICK shows, I STILL don't understand why "Wings" was put into that "B" category so soon and basically "given up for dead" by NICK.

Call me "thick", "dense" or "Lowell", but I just don't get it!

I've just accepted the fact that not everyone likes Wings. If they push it to 3:30 or whenever, there's nothing we can seem to do about it. I'll just start taping it and watching it the next day, and fast forward through all the commercials. Then it won't do them any good to advertise, lol.

yeah. grr. i don't like not being able to edit out the commercials on my tapes.
3:30 AM stinks. But at least it'll still be on!

I agree, but from what I've read, Three's Company will be going to a later timeslot sometime this year, and they will only be on once a day, so they have become a B show, but I agree with you all the way!

So very well said, TVAdam, and also to everybody else. I "met" Snoopy on the TVLand boards and she told me about these boards and how everybody was so much nicer. Well, she was right. People on the TVLand boards would go on the shows they didn't like and bash those shows. Why would somebody do that?? That's so idiotic, not to mention a waste of time. I mean, I don't go on boards of shows I don't like and bash them. I just don't watch the show!! Simple as that. So what a pleasure it is to come on here and be able to take part in intelligent and considerate conversation with people of similar interests, especially Wings. Heck, I'm sure I speak for most of us here when I say that you really are the only ones I can talk about Wings to and it's so great I'm able to do that. I certainly don't have anybody in the 'outside world'. Well, except my sister, but none of my friends watch the show.

So, thanks everyone! :thanks:

I'm glad you found us here last year, Adam. :D I've been a member of SitcomsOnline since December of 2000. I came here looking for a nice, civil place to discuss TV shows and other things and I found it. I've been to other message board sites where the way that people treat each other there is just atrocious. For the most part, this place is not one of them.
