Small Wonderian 09-12-2003, 02:13 PM John Ritter's biography (courtesy of www.imdb.com) Birth name Johnathan Southworth Ritter -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Height 6' 1" (1.85 m) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mini biography The son of a legendary country singing musician/actor (Tex) and his wife (Dorothy), Jonathan Southworth Ritter was born in Burbank, Cal., on September 17, 1948. His older brother, Tom, became a lawyer, but John was destined to follow in his father's footsteps. In 1977, he and his brother emceed the Annual United Cerebral Palsy Telethon (a neurological condition particularly close to their hearts because of Tom's triumph over it) and racked up millions of dollars for the cause. John was enrolled at Hollywood High School, where he was a student body president, and later attended the University of Southern California, where he majored in Psychology and minored in Architecture. After a couple of years, he was induced to join an acting class taught by Nina Foch. He changed his major to Theater Arts, graduating in 1971 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Drama. In addition to Nina Foch, he also studied acting with Stella Adler at the Harvey Lembeck Comedy Workshop. Between 1968 and 1969, he appeared in a series of stage plays in England, Scotland, Holland and in Germany. His father was entertaining troops in Germany at the same time that his son was performing at an air base there. Unfortunately, John's father passed away in 1973, before his son achieved the celebrity status that arrived with his second series, Three's Company (1977). -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- IMDb mini-biography by garyrick96@hotmail.com -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Spouse Nancy Morgan (16 October 1977 - September 1996) (divorced) 3 children Amy Yasbeck (18 September 1999 - 11 September 2003) (his death) 1 child -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Trivia Attended Hollywood High. That was one heck of a comeback, though. :D The key for Dallas is to limit Jeremy Shockey and get good pressure on Kerry Collins. Limit the Giants to being just a one-dimensional team. Mr. Television 09-14-2003, 11:54 PM I hope we cream Jeremy Shockey's clock. I'm sorry but I don't care for him. That will be good because then we face them next week, that'll be one less person we have to worry about. Small Wonderian 09-15-2003, 10:50 AM A&E Small Wonderian 09-15-2003, 10:50 AM Country Music Television Small Wonderian 09-15-2003, 10:53 AM Food Network Small Wonderian 09-15-2003, 10:54 AM Turner Classic Movies Small Wonderian 09-15-2003, 10:54 AM QVC Small Wonderian 09-15-2003, 10:54 AM TNT Small Wonderian 09-15-2003, 10:54 AM C-SPAN Small Wonderian 09-15-2003, 10:55 AM C-SPAN2 Small Wonderian 09-15-2003, 10:55 AM PAX Small Wonderian 09-15-2003, 10:55 AM SoapNet Small Wonderian 09-15-2003, 10:56 AM Weather Channel Small Wonderian 09-15-2003, 10:56 AM FOX News Channel Small Wonderian 09-15-2003, 10:56 AM MSNBC Small Wonderian 09-15-2003, 10:56 AM Trinity Broadcasting Network Small Wonderian 09-15-2003, 10:57 AM Inspiration Network |
