I Remember the night before i had stayed Up All Night, My Mom was going out of town the next day so i figured i would just sleep all day. Than shortly after My Mom (Along with my Sister and Grandmother) Left that came On the news and i was scared to death....You really didnt know what else was going to happen that day and Im sure Alot of people (Including Myself) Were thinking that it would happen again. I Didnt get any sleep that day and i sat their in shock and horror worrying about My Mom, Sister and Grandmother and Feeling bad for All the people that did die. That was the scariest part of it all, You didnt know what else was going to happen, Especially since They did a 2nd attack on The Pentagon after. I Got online that morning to see how others were reacting (I Wasnt a member here yet it was On anouther message board) And Alot of people were thinking it was the begining of World War 3, Some even thought it was the end of the world. Very Scary....I Really hope we never have to go through something like that again. HIGH ENOUGH 09-11-2003, 02:46 AM Originally posted by Chad Doody Sure doesnt seem like 2 years. Very scary day... It DOES make you wonder when it;s going to happen again. Hopefully, never. The scary thing is you think 'what if I was on the plane?' NOTHING CAN SCARE THIS WONDERFUL COUNTRY!!!! patriot: patriot: patriot: WE AMERICANS ARE HERE TO STAY, NOT IN FEAR!!!! jasoncole 09-11-2003, 06:37 AM some people hate it when the anniversary comes around because they might feel a little uncomfortable or can't eat their breakfast in peace this is wrong these people need to wake up to the fact that alot of brave men and women risked their lives to save people on that day to you think the firemen felt a little uncomfortable going up a tower which was coming down on them i think so! we all should reflect on this day across the world because the war on terrorism is a world war at this very moment osama bin laden has issued new threats on america its a long way from over yet :( *Marilyn Monroe* 09-11-2003, 08:08 PM Bad things have happened every year since 9-11-01. 01 was the obvious one, the towers. 02 was the day my house got broken into. 03...today, my grandpa just died at 4:15. I'll never forget ANY 9-11's. Leigh Ann 09-11-2003, 09:40 PM I'll certainly never forget that day. I was a Sophomore and it was our "Faith Day" (kind of a spiritual day we have every year). And, I remember us gathering around the radio, listening. And, also, my uncle died like about 2 days before it. That was a tragic week for all of us. :crying: Hollow 09-11-2003, 10:00 PM One thing i dont understand is how it "changed the world forever..." i dont mean to take this lightly but how did it change the WHOLE WORLD? Lee 09-11-2003, 11:03 PM Let us remember- Our police officers... Our firefighters... Our paramedics... The men and women of our armed forces... And all those who keep the U.S.A. safe and free! dandelion wine 09-11-2003, 11:15 PM I won't ever forget that day.. Brian and Marilyn Monroe, I'm sorry for your losses. :( This was sent to me in an e-mail: This is an original work to commemorate those who died on September 11, 2001, and all those affected in ways large and small by the tragedies brought upon the world that day. To all the men who were lost in the attacks: In life, you were what we all are. You were friends. You were boyfriends. You were fathers. You were husbands. You were what any man can be. Every one of us who has ever known yougrieves for you. We wish we could turn back the clock and regain you, but instead we must steel our hearts and continue in the face of terror and hatred. Now that you are gone, we have no other choice. We will never forget you- your personalities, your words, your thoughts, your love. We will honor your memory. To all the women who were lost in the attacks: Once, you were friends and girlfriends, mothers and sisters, wives. Now, there is a void in our hearts where you were. We mourn your loss, and we honor you by overcoming ourselves and opening ourselves to others. Those of us that knew and loved you will never heal from the day's blow, but we have to carry on. None of you will ever be forgotten. We will honor your memory. To those close to the lost: In this time, we will offer you everything we have. We will give you whatever aid and whatever strength we can. No matter who you are, you are still one of us, and we will treat you as our closest family. Words can't express what you feel, but your heart can. Sharing a problem is ninety-nine percent of overcoming it. We are here for you. We will honor the memory of those lost. To the searchers and workers, living and dead: All of you put your lives on the line for those in danger. Some of you lost them. Some of you regained those of others who would otherwise have died. All of you are now world heroes. You put aside your selfishness, your callousness, and your differences, and united to help people you had never met. You are what we wish we could all be. Gratitude cannot be given in written word, but we have to say thank you, even if you cannot hear us. To all those who oppose terror: Now marks the beginning of what most likely will be the most difficult period of our lives. We have to keep the spirit of unity that we have now! These people died to give you strength. Their energies are now our loyalty. Their spirits can guide us through what is about to happen. If you ever question why we are fighting, think of the people that you know, the people that are closest to you, your loved ones, and imagine them being lost in a senseless, unprovoked violent act. That shadow will hang over all of us until we band together and deny terrorists the opportunity to break us. Do not harden yourself; strengthen yourself. Strength endures where hard shatters. Mourn those you knew who are now gone, love the friends you still have, do not shut yourself away from the world. Join us, and we will show these people what the human spirit is truly made of. "In bleeding us dry, you long for our spirit- but that you will never possess." - From Elton John and Tim Rice's musical of Aida Stormtracker TF 09-11-2003, 11:32 PM 9/11 was such a horrible day. A day ill never forget in my lifetime. I remember my Brother Waking me up that day and told me the World Trade Center was on fire and a Plane had hit the Pentagon, it was so confusing. I didnt really want to believe that it was real. And like Chad said, it was Scary, not knowing where theyd hit next. It was also really scary when they Announced that Another plane had been Hijacked, and it later Crashed in PA. Pure Horror. God Bless America. Kristina 09-12-2003, 01:07 AM Yeah, it was a sad day. But I think it's even more sad they got Afghanistan back twice as bad and are killing innocent women, children, and men in Iraq. I'm not proud to be an American, I hate George W. Bush. :) Hollow 09-12-2003, 01:17 AM Originally posted by Kristina I'm not proud to be an American, I hate George W. My dad had just flown out of Newark airport the week before. I'll never forget my roommate running in - she ran out of the middle of class - opened the door and screamed "Where is your dad?" Thank God, my father was safe at home. We were very lucky. Last year I spent the anniversary in Germany. It's so touching to see just how much it affected the entire world. Everything stopped there for a moment of silence - and there were newspapers and magazines and posters everywhere. We're not alone. patriot: Liza 09-12-2003, 02:51 AM Originally posted by ~°Sarah°~ that man makes me feel ashamed to be american I know how you guys feel, believe me. But fortunately, most of the world realizes that it's not every American who supports the president. It WAS every American though, that was affected by September 11th. Cashodeen 09-12-2003, 06:17 AM patriot: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I was a pretty shocked when not much mentioning was done on television. The main networks should have done better in remembing September 11th. Maybe I was watching the wrong channels, but ABC, for one, didn't do a thing. Did you know that before 9/11 I could not even recall what it looked like? I thought it was just one single huge building like the Chrysler Building or the Sears Tower. I read that in the 60's the towers were built as a monument to peace and the spirit of cooperation with other countries. To have this great building destroyed is horrific. It's the destruction of not only lives and a structure, but of a symbol. peacesign: Isn't it ironic that the only thing people think about now is wanting to go on to eternal WAR with other countries?? Not such a fitting memorial to peace and cooperation... |
