I know that it hasn't premiered yet but this is the official Happy Family talkback thread.

I gotta tell you, I wasn't expecting much from this show (considering the lead in) but I was pleasantly surprised.
Ths is a very funny show.
John Larroquette and Christine Baranski are terrific.

Thumbs up, baby!

I enjoyed it. I thought is was very funny. Why do I think that it will be among NBC'S first cancellations?

Unlike Whoopi, I was not impressed with this show. I must say though, this series certainly has one of better looking TV homes, I've seen.

Ahhh!! I missed it! I was looking forward to it all day. But then something important came up at the last minute and I missed Whoopi and Happy Family!!

I guess I gotta watch it next week. My brother saw it though, he said they were both pretty good

I didn't like Happy Family, but it was better than Whoopi, imo.

I have to say I was expecting better, I may give it another shot though. Can't see it lasting too long.

I liked it! The writing could use some improving, but I thought it was really funny for the most part. The episode seemed to go on for awhile, but then maybe thats how most pilots are? I remember watching the 8sr pilot and I didn't think it would ever end. Lol.

I really liked both John Larroquette and Christine Baranski. I loved Melanie Paxson but of course I am biased. :D I'd like to see more of Eric the Parrot. :)

I thought it was good, not the funniest sitcom but pretty good. Better than most of the shows NBC has had in that timeslot. Plus it's nice to see the zip-lock lady in a tv series.

I loved it! And I love the chick who plays the daughter, Sarah... She's the Glad Girl and played Janet in the Three's Company movie.

I thought it was really good! I wasn't excepting much from it, but I figured I'd watch it just to give it a try and I thought it was great!

I love the show. I thought it would be stupid like In-laws but it was much better!

I'm really enjoying this show so far. It has some clever moments.

On the whole, the new sitcom lineup this season has been relatively good. I can't remember the last time the fall lineup was as strong.

Short-Lived Sitcom Potpourri (V) (https://jacksonupperco.com/2019/12/18/short-lived-sitcom-potpourri-v/)

Low-concept family comedy (https://web.archive.org/web/20140402223206/http://forums.televisionwithoutpity.com/topic/3107691-happy-family/?view=getnewpost) sandwiched on NBC’s schedule between Whoopi and Frasier has a few great leads — Larroquette, Baranski, and Paxson, especially — who are always watchable. But this premise also requires character-driven comedy to sustain investment, and after a pilot that defines most of the leads situationally, the rest of the run fails to ever make anyone unique or memorable enough to motivate comedic stories. It’s, I’m afraid, blah (https://web.archive.org/web/20061031125301/http://www.jumptheshark.com/h/happyfamily.htm).
