Instead of wasting their freaking money on lawsuits, why don't they just invest their money on trying to figure out a way to lower CD prices. Most people will stop downloading if CD prices were around $10 and lower. They have to realize that the entire public doesn't have a huge income large enough to waste money on a $18.99 CD for only two good songs!!!

This moring Paul Stanley from Kiss was on The Sam Rubin Show on 97.1 talk radio (in L.A.) and he was literally poking fun at his fans, calling them thieves, and losers. He belittled a 18-year old fan who recently graduated high school, and blamed him for not being able to afford CD's. If I was Sam, I would of kicked Paul out of the studio for insulting his listeners.

Finally a listener called and attacked Paul for challenging peoples moral values. A band member from SR-71 also called and blamed the downloader for being dropped from his label.... what a loser.

The quote that got stuck in my head was, "The guys without money are always the one who want to share." I can't believe Stanley is that stupid.

I swear, after listening to this interview now I want to get rid of some of my Kiss CDs, and then download them in purpose.

I think the interview is still going on. L.A. people tune-in to 97.1 .

---BTW, don't you guys think that the rec. company's should try to bring back the "singles"?.... Give fans the songs they want.

That is incredibly rude. I wonder just exactly how much money he loses because of downloading and how much he still makes.

I didn't know they didn't make singles anymore. When did this happen? :confused: (can you tell I haven't bought any current music in a long time?)

The stuff I download is always hard-to-find, unreleased music (almost always Monkees and so far they haven't complained).

Most cds are only $10-13. If you pay $18 you're a sucker.


Why doesnt the RIAA just do this...Kiss my ass!

Most CD's in my area cost about 20 bucks. The rest around 12 dollars. If the album is good enough I'll pay the 20 bucks, if not I'lll download the one or two only good songs on the album. Really rare, live stuff, and unrealsed songs I'll download too. So, I download a lot. RIAA sucks.

RIAA does suck mainly because they're greedy as hell. On some level, I feel a little sorry for the smaller bands who may get screwed as a direct result of downloading though...HOWEVER, it's the major, rich-as-hell, long-established, fat cats acts whom I have no sympathy for.

I used to listen to 97.1 all the time when I was at work, now, sadly, I'm unemployed. It's still my favorite station, though. :spit:

When Cd's came out though, weren't they about 8-9 dollars? I don't want to pay $18.00 for a cd with 3 good songs on it. I have a solution for the artists, Put more effort into making an album with all good songs on it so it's actually worth my money.

I was watching the fabolous life on VH1 and artists like Britney Spears are making $30,000,000 on concert tours. And millions more on ads. And after watching Cribs, I don't feel too sorry for the "starving" artists.

I should listen to Felix Hernadez's "Rhythm Revue" show on Kiss FM, 98.7 and "Kissing After Dark" with Von Harper on the same station. RIAA doesn't seem to say about that since I read that article in the Daily News about a 12-year-old girl named Brianna.

No, they got dropped because they suck. Downloaders can't make their suckiness drop.

I read an article, and it said that ISP's like SBC are protecting their clients, by not releasing their customers information. That's cool. :)

So far, I'm on the safe side (I hope,) I have Kazaa Lite (instead of Kazaa,) and SBC.

any artist who spits in their fans faces are losers. I have always liked Kiss, but I am considering selling the 3 cd's I have of theirs (Alive, Destroyer and Rock N Roll Over). You have come to expect Gene Simmons to be arrogant and preposterous, hell, that actually is part of his charm, but Stanley has always supposed to have been the down to earth one.

I think after a song is 2-3 years old, there should be nothing wrong with downloading because most (not all, there are some like Zeppelin, Floyd, Beatles, etc...) albums sell 95% of their final outcome in the first 2 years or so. If somebody wants to download a one hit wonder song from 1995 and they cannot find the cd used cheap anywhere, why waste $15 for a Deep Blue Something cd when they just want one song, and the album had run it's course saleswise. I can understand why artists don't want their brand new albums being downloaded. But come on, 2-3 years later, the album has sold what it was set out to do, and because somebody wants one measly song shouldn't make much a difference. Lars Ulrich looked so bad when he went against downloaders considering he's sold 13 million copies of the 1991 Metallica album, and most of their other albums have averaged 5-6 million each. Lars, you aren't starving man.

And also watching these VH1/E!/MTV specials like Cribs and The Fabulous Life Of and It's Good To Be... only shows that people like Britney, J-Lo, Mariah, Madonna, Celine, Justin, Michael Jackson and plenty of others are not "starving artists". Sorry, I don't pity someone with over $40 million in the bank account because someone who makes less than $40,000 (which is 1/1000th they make) a year wants to download one of their songs. Sorry, some people have things to pay, like bills, whereas you are worried about buying a jet.
