View Full Version : Was Jo a gangster? Jo Polniaczec 02-09-2001, 01:41 PM Was Jo a gangster before she came to Eastland? FOL85NatandMrsGRock 02-09-2001, 01:51 PM what!!!! No!!! Why do you think that?? she just lived in a tough neighborhood... I'm sure she's NOT a ganster!! josthebest 02-09-2001, 02:41 PM You mean a gang member? I don't know...she talked about the Young Diablos, hmmm.... Lil_miss_goodwrench_518 02-09-2001, 03:51 PM she wasnt a gangster...dont think but i recall her saying that she was in the young diablos...so maybe she was agang memeber FOL85NatandMrsGRock 02-09-2001, 04:41 PM no.. they were talking abotu how if she left eastland she'd have to be AROUND the young diablos... she wasn't in one.. if she was i dont think shed still be at eastland!! you can't be in a gang and not EVER see them! and besides if she would have tried to get out she probably would have been killed... bronx gangs are worse than milwaukee gangs.. and if you want to get out of a gang here you'd be killed for betraying them... Jo Polniaczec 02-09-2001, 05:57 PM thx JMPolniaczek15 02-11-2001, 05:20 PM In Last night's episode, Help from Home, someone - I think it was her aunt- metioned her being in a gang. ***************** Blair: 'The moon was but a chint of gold a night or two ago, and now she turns her perfect face toward the world below.' The Moon. Emily Dickinson. Jo: 'It's freezing!' Jo Polniaczek. Lil_miss_goodwrench_518 02-11-2001, 05:38 PM yea her aunt said something like " i always knew you were smart, even when you where a bum running around with that gang" so im gussing that one point in her life she was in a gang but it was proabley like a small gang that if you decied to leave the gang you wouldnt be killed like you are now sometims!they proabley just shoplifted and underager drinking, skipp school and stuff like that coily2 02-12-2001, 12:24 AM Growing up, I never remember late '70's/early 80's gangs being like they are today. They were more of a group of delinquents than the violent groups you see today. The tough ones still existed, but they weren't as visible as they are today. Anyhow, that's how it was growing up in Chicago. I can't imagine the Bronx being *that* much different. KJCOKC 02-12-2001, 01:41 AM Also, a lot of gangs had kinda' a 'junior' version for kids who weren't old enough for the regular gang. Meg07945 02-12-2001, 07:50 PM Also~ in The New Girl, did Mrs. G say that she had gotten into trouble with Eddie (not that kind of trouble! http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/smile.gif lol!!). So maybe Eddie was in a gang and Jo just kinda ran around with them..who know though? Gemini_89 02-24-2016, 01:16 PM Heck yea! Jo was a gangsta alright! hahaha '80sSitcoms 02-24-2016, 02:17 PM Also~ in The New Girl, did Mrs. G say that she had gotten into trouble with Eddie (not that kind of trouble! [img] So maybe Eddie was in a gang and Jo just kinda ran around with them..who know though? I never thought that was Eddie. Mrs. Garrett just said "Then she met a boy who got her into trouble---uh, not that kind of trouble." I think Jo met some other boy, and went down the wrong road of juvenile delinquency, and then she met Eddie. 80s Dude 05-03-2020, 10:15 AM Jo's whole family gave off gangster vibes. Her father definitely did. Wait, Alex Rocco really was a gangster. valentina warner 05-03-2020, 07:48 PM I never thought that was Eddie.
