On the season premiere episode, "Premiere," Bridget finds her popularity waning because of her exclusive, long distance relationship with Donny (Thad Luckinbill, "The Young and the Restless"), while Kerry's social status skyrockets because of her relationship with Kyle. But Bridget's eyes begin to stray when she meets Damian (Paul Wasilewski) - a sexy new kid at school. Meanwhile, as she waits for the results of her pregnancy test, Cate is stunned when Paul, Bridget, Kerry and Rory seem more concerned about how the baby could disrupt their lives than the blessed event itself. The series, based upon W. Bruce Cameron's best-selling book, "8 Simple Rules for Dating My Teenage Daughter," stars John Ritter as Paul Hennessy, Katey Sagal as Cate Hennessy, Kaley Cuoco as Bridget Hennessy, Amy Davidson as Kerry Hennessy and Martin Spanjers as Rory Hennessy.
Guest starring are John Ratzenberger as Fred Doyle, Cindy Williams as Mary Ellen Doyle, Larry Miller as Tommy, Billy Aaron Brown as Kyle, Thad Luckinbill as Donny Doyle, Cole Williams as Anthony, Howard Alonzo as Andre, Paul Wasilewski as Damian, Wendie Jo Sperber as Louise and Gregor Trpin as cadet (o.c.).

Tracy Gamble ("Home Improvement," "The Golden Girls"), who created the series, also serves as executive producer along with Flody Suarez ("The Tick"), Tom Shadyac ("Bruce Almighty," "Lar Liar," "The Nutty Professor") and Michael Bostick ("Bruce Almighty," "Liar Liar"). "8 Simple Rules for Dating My Teenage Daughter," which premiered on September 17, 2002 and is filmed before an audience, is from Touchstone Television.
"8 Simple Rules for Dating My Teenage Daughter" is broadcast in 720 Progressive (720P), ABC's selected HDTV format, with 5.1-channel surround sound.
