Today, I went to the bank to make a deposit via the ATM and it ate my card! Of course, this would happen on a Sunday when the bank is closed. :/ I'm hoping the ATM doesn't decide to spit my card out to some random person later. Has this happened to anyone else before?

It happened to me once long ago. I seem to recall that there was something about my transaction that it didn't like. I got my card back from the bank the next day. I don't think it will spit your card back out to someone else.

I just talked with a friend of mine who is an officer at another branch of the same bank. She said that due to the storms we have been having in my area, the machines can brown out from time to time, causing them to "forget" where they were and therefore, they keep the card as a safety procedure.

I don't go to the ones that you have to put the card in, the one down the street from me you just slide the card through

I suggest you go down there and kick it's @$$.

I would have liked to, but I didn't want the ATM camera to catch me! ;)

thats happened to my mom. she decided to use a card that she had not used in a long time and couldnt really remember the password. after 3 trys it takes it. she just had to go to the bank and tell them what happened to get it back.

Well, I got my card back today. :D When I got there, they asked me if I was there to get my card (without me telling them that I had lost it). Obviously, it had happened to a lot of other people besides me...the man called before me was there for the same reason.

I think I will give up on that branch's ATM for a while, though. After I got my card back, I tried it again and it nearly ate it a second time, after giving me a message that it couldn't accept deposits or withdrawals at that time! :bash:

I don't have an ATM machine neither.
