I agree. That episode is a bit stupid. I think they make the policemen look very foolish. Also i noticed when i saw it last night, when Esther identifies Mr. Big she says her line.."That's Him!" before she even looks at him. The only funny part was when the police commisioner handed Fred the fruit from his pocket. He is the same guy who was the car salesman from Sanderson Motors who tried to sell Fred a new pickup truck.

It was a strange episode, and I didn't like the omission of some of the main characters, but I still thought it was pretty funny.

If an episode isn't formula, it isn't good. Right...

It's funny that Sitty would say this episode is not "recordable" because Lamont is not in it. In other posts, he's said that he didn't like Lamont.

The Earthquake episode stunk because:

1. Lousy earthquake effects (look for the black mount moving the couch) Fred and Lamont looked so phoney falling around.

2. White people moving to Watts? What's up with that?

3. Never had an earthquake before that episode and never had one after that episode.

4. The Las Vegas scenes just weren't funny.

5. The policeman's convenient reference to the fault line map and the fault line just happening to run under their house.

6. Very poorly written.

I liked it too. Oddfather was funny, but it also did a good job of defining the complex character of Fred Sanford. He was willing to put his own life on the line not for civic duty, but for money. He was NOT willing to risk the lives of his loved ones for money, BUT he didn't want anyone to know about it. When Donna did find out, he still had to put some doubt in her mind about his kindness. It was as if he was afraid of being labeled a nice guy and wanted to keep his reputation as a selfish old grouch. It was a funny and significant episode. Where is it written that every episode has to be exactly like every other?

I do have to disagree with you about the earthquake episode though. I thought that Sanford and Son had a great way of combining psychological humor with old fashioned physical comedy and this episode was an excellent example of it.

YOU BIG DUMMY! That was one of the funniest episodes, fred makes most of that show by himself. the shooting, the trash can, and if him telling donna to ride out on the horse she came in on (esther) wasnt enough. Its all good, you might not be no dummy but thats my intro if you dont like it you can get one across the lips.:)

I think that the Oddfather was a good episode. You want to talk about least favorite ones---what about CAROL. (yuck) and I didn't like The Director too much either.

Here are two epsodes that I think where just made just so they would have some shows to air. One was the when Fred was in St.Louis and Grady was taking his place. Some lady came over there and thought he was Fred Sandford, then thought Lamont was Fred Snaford, even the police. That was pointless. The other one is when Grady's cousin Emma came to visit. She said she was going to clean up and cook but never did. That was dumb. Anyone else Agree?
