I was watching GAB the other day in Texas and the episode was on where Nell helps the kid who is caught shoplifting. Don Rickles plays the store owner, but I cannot find anywhere who plays the kid. She is a young girl (about 13 or 14) and her name is Danni on the show. Does anyone know who played her? She looks familiar and it is driving me crazy!

This was the pilot episode for a proposed series called Max (aka The Don Rickles Show). It aired on 04/28/83.

A spinoff from Gimme a Break. Don Rickles stars as Max Sorenson, a grocer who takes in a streetwise orphan (LaShana Dendy) to live with him in the apartment above the store. In the pilot, Nell Carter catches the girl shoplifting. The authors of The Sweeps say that "the pilot was of such negligible substance that it collapsed of its own weightlessness."
