Here's another thing I noticed. Watching HOTC now, Janice seemed really young to me season 1...obviously, she is, but I meant her mentality. It seemed to me that Tannis was trying too hard to sound intelligent, when I wonder if she had a clue as to what was coming out of her mouth. (I still have no idea...waaaaay beyond me.) Season 2, it seemed like Janice aged 4 years for 1 year! She was still childish and silly (into all that horror mess), but she didn't seem so young. I think Tannis was just growing really quick!

They didn't realize how popular the show (https://web.archive.org/web/20140406113659/http://forums.televisionwithoutpity.com/topic/2154217-head-of-the-class/page-2#entry8407935) would be (starting it at senior year instead of at an earlier point in high school) so they tried to stretch out that senior year. Hence why Tannis Vallely was one of the cast who was let go (they can't keep a girl going through puberty looking 10 forever).
