Last week was a sad week at work. One of the regular characters on the PM shift died of a heart attack. He had high blood pressure and was generally hyper. He was known as a goofball and a talky kind of guy who was in a lot of ways like a walking cartoon character. He could exasperate us in a lot of ways, but you couldn't ignore the fact that he was upbeat and had a great cheerful sense of humor. He could get into talking about inappropriate things a little too much, and seemed to lack discretion because he had this knack for just rattling things off the top of his head. It was sad when it happened, for the past week or so he was off work because he had gotten thin and pale and short of breath. He had lost his appetite and was urged to see a doctor. The last we heard was that his mother called last Wednesday night to report that she found that he had died in his bathroom. He was only 51. The office is missing his kooky brand of humor, and everyone was so sad.:crying: The place just seems darker...just not the same.

And if that weren't enough, several months ago, a physically incapacitated lady co-worker who was on a walker was badly hit by a car as she tried to cross the street. We found out this morning that she died as well. She was a nice lady as well. In fact, one of my co-workers months ago that this was most likely was going to happen. Unfortunately, she was right.:crying:

But, I guess if there has been a good thing to come out of these tragedies, it's that I have been more conscious about my weight, and have noticed improvements.
