Ben and J.Lo Set the Date


The clock is officially ticking, so hurry up and buy those wedding presents already! Both Us Weekly and The New York Daily News are reporting that – finally – celebrity supercouple Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez have set a date and place for their impending nuptials: Sunday, September 14th near Santa Barbara, CA. While official reps couldn't be reached for comment, Us Weekly said that close friends were expecting the ceremony to be performed on a hillside estate, "maybe at a winery," and that Santa Barbara's Four Seasons Biltmore Hotel would cater the affair. In manner worthy of an espionage film, around 400 guests received a phone call inviting them to the wedding, and were told to expect further details to be hand-delivered four days before the ceremony. The guest list is reported to include Matt Damon, Carrie Fisher, Bruce Willis, Matthew Perry and Alec Baldwin; it's believed Ben has selected his brother, Casey Affleck, for best man duties. Reports also cite popular wedding gown designer Vera Wang as the woman in charge of J.Lo's dress. In case you didn't remember, this is the first marriage for Affleck, and the third for Lopez, whose most recent betrothal to dancer Cris Judd ended after nine months.

I was, too, and I wouldn't have been surprised!!

I really don't have anything against Ben or J.Lo, but I also don't understand the fascination with them. Just the fact that she's going to be wearing another WHITE wedding dress, give me a break. I think they should just elope and take the money they were going to waste on this elaborate wedding and give it to a reputable charity.

I'm happy for Ben and Jennifer, and I hope they make it. I'm not caught up in their every move, but they seem like nice people in their TV interviews. I don't wish bad luck on anyone.

I think it's nice that they're having a large fancy wedding. Why shouldn't they? They work hard for their money, and I'm sure they donate to charities. One has nothing to do with the other anyway.

I'm from Boston and a big fan of Ben's. He gives a lot back to the community that he grew up in.

I've said it before, but it's become almost trendy to bash Ben and Jennifer. I don't get it. What's to hate. They're both talented, good looking and hard-working decent people.

I'm still waiting for my invitation...

I just hate the fact that the media makes such a big deal about everything that happens in their lives. I could really care less about what they're buying each other and where they're vacationing. I don't really think that Jennifer Lopez is that great of a singer, but she is an ok actress. I've only really seen Ben Affleck in Pearl Harbor and he was ok in it. I do agree that they worked hard to get into the business though.
