I wish that Small Wonder was on TV.....:( , but I know that it will never happen......these darn TV networks :rolleyes: :mad:

I'm really not trying to "fluff" my post count, but I'm so bored right now....there's nothing else to do :(


I hope that since this thread is a random thread.....it doesn't get deleted or closed.

I would be happy if Small Wonder came out on DVD. That would be a more hopeful chance than seeing it on TV. :)

It's now 90 degrees here, but it feels like 102.

And on top of that, no one really posts in the Small Wonder board here at SO.

This really tells people that the show is not really popular and upbeat, but I'll always love the show. :)

And I also heard that it aired on KTLA (WB - channel 5) in Los Angeles as recently as 1997.

It also aired on ABC on Saturday Mornings from 1988 to 1990 and on my local FOX station from 1986 to 1992.


Somehow, networks could get the rights to the show if they wanted to......the question is do they really want to?

TV Land uses the excuse of not airing some of the tv shows from the 50's like December Bride, Topper, or Highway Patrol, saying nobody remembers them. If they played them people would remember them. I never saw any of these shows but would like too.

Exactly. And how do they know that nobody remembers a show? Do they try to read people's minds now? :mad: :rolleyes:

I didn't get TV Land when they aired Chico And The Man. I wish they would bring that show back. I also wish they would show Maude again. I only saw a couple of shows that TV Land aired.

I didn't see Maude all that often, and I never got a chance to see Chico and The Man. :(

I saw Chico And The Man when it originally aired but I hadn't seen it sense except for a few episodes on TV Land on the weekends. Same with Maude. I don't think those 2 shows were syndicated much.

Yeah, that's where I got some photos, and they have only 4 downloadable episodes there, too. They also have a promo of the show that aired back in 1985. :)

I wrote to the person who maintains the site, and he told me that they're not going to update the site until the server cost comes down. He said it's too expensive to keep the site updated right now. And he also moved Vicki's Cabinet (where you can talk about the show -- basically, a forum for Small Wonder), from there to this website:

I've heard that it's not terribly hard to make and update a website, but you have to have a lot of dedication and motivation to do it. The HTML and VB codes are not too hard to learn.

The Jets are not going to be as great a team they were the past 3-4 seasons, but I expect them to win between 7 and 9 games this year. They won't make the playoffs, though.

Yes. :nod: People now don't even consider the rivalry between the Cowboys and Redskins what it used to be.

I think that now they just see it as an ordinary game, but it is much more than an ordinary game. Pride, bragging rights, and honor are at stake every time these two foes play each other.

I still consider it a great Rivalry. In the last few years its the only game I've looked forward too. I still get nostalgia for the Tom Landry Cowboys and the George Allen Redskins. They had some great games.

Yeah. Every time these two teams meet, the games have been mostly decided by 7 points or less. Every now and then, a score might be 35-16 or 38-23. It used to be that when the Redskins came to Dallas (from 1993 to 1996), Dallas crushed Washington like 31-7, 38-3, or some other lopsided score like that.

Thank goodness we ended Dallas' 10-game winning streak against us last year with a 20-14 win in Washington on the last day of the season.

I think what happened was that during the 1980's Washington was good and Dallas was bad and then in the 1990's Dallas was good and Washington was bad and then in the last few years they both were bad. That hurts a rivalry as far as what the national media thinks. It's been a long time sense they were both good.

Yeah, but the NFC East teams are rivals just because as long as the 4 teams are in the same division, there's going to be some bad blood. Even the Cardinals were our rivals, but now they have moved on to the NFC West with the Rams, 49ers, and Seahawks.

Our two teams are going to be great again starting this season.

I'm still trying to get used to the Seahawks being in the NFC even though they were in the NFC from 1974 to 1976, before switching over to the AFC in exchange for Tampa Bay.

Oh yea, its fun to root against the Eagles and the Giants too. Just having Jeremy Shockey on the Giants, fuels the rivalry. I do like Donovan McNabb though. Its hard to get excited about playing the Eagles. They've blown us out the past 4 years.:lol:

Here in Virginia, the Redskins get shown on FOX or CBS depending on which team we're playing. When I was in Delaware not too long ago, the Eagles were shown on a constant basis. I only got to see 2 Redskins games....one of which the Eagles came to Washington and steam-rolled us 37-7 on Monday, September 16 of last year.

yea I got 2 Fox stations. One plays the Redskins and the other the Eagles. Then all the cbs stations play the Ravens games.:(

it floods here too. there is a river near my grandparents house and im always afraid that when it rains a lot the bridge will get washed out.

I live near the fall line and so when rain comes from the west, it rushes down through the part of city that I live in and goes east, and collects into huge flooded spots.

Then, Emmitt Smith ran for a touchdown and also ran to the middle of the field and spiked the ball on the star?

Those are pretty good predictions except for The NFC East.:lol: I think Tennessee might do a little better, and Kansas City too. If Michael Vick returns I think Atlanta can get to the Superbowl. I was pulling for them last year. Their coach Dan Reeves use to play for the Cowboys.

The NFC East title will be tougher to get this year, so all 4 teams might be in it to the very end.

Kansas City, in my opinion, would be on the short end of the stick, because San Diego will be a lot better this year and then Oakland and Denver are usually the kings of the AFC West.

Atlanta can win with Doug Johnson, but they really need Vick in order to get to the Super Bowl.

Tennessee has tough competition with the Indianapolis Colts. I expect the Colts to win the division, but it's going to come down to the last 3 weeks of the season, though.

One thing about the NFL all the teams compete until late in the season. Then its one game, you win or your gone in the playoffs. Thats why football is my favorite sport.

Yep. Football is a game of inches and one play, game, or any other circumstance can mean the difference between winning or losing (in the regular season or playoffs). ;)

The "Music City Miracle." That was an awesome game. :woohoo:

It was on January 8, 2000 and that game came on before the Redskins-Lions game. The Redskins won that game 27-13.

Do you remember the Redskins-Buccaneers game that following week in which the Redskins had a 13-0 lead, but then Tampa Bay came back to lead 14-13, then the Redskins tried to go for a game winning field goal, but they bobbled to snap and the kicker tried to desperately throw for a first down, but Tampa Bay intercepted the ball and won the game?

yea, that was a great game too. Then there was another game in the early 90's when Tennessee was still in Houston. They led the Bills 35-3 at halftime and lost the game 38-35. That was when the Bills were going to all those Super Bowls. The game is so unpredictable.

yea, that was a great game too. Then there was another game in the early 90's when Tennessee was still in Houston. They led the Bills 35-3 at halftime and lost the game 38-35. That was when the Bills were going to all those Super Bowls. The game is so unpredictable.


The Oilers should have won that game, but the game isn't over until all 4 quarters are used up and one team has a higher point total than the other.

Another great game, was back in 1998 I think, and Arizona got into the playoffs and beat Dallas in Texas Stadium 20-7. That was their first playoff appearance since the late 80's and their first ever playoff win against the Cowboys in Texas Stadium.

What about the playoff game between the Broncos and Browns in Cleveland. John Elway engineered a 2-minute drive that was called "The Drive" and the Broncos won 23-20, I think.

Yea, I remember that game. Elway and the Broncos beat Cleveland in 3 AFC Championships in the late 1980's. I'm glad Elway got a Super Bowl ring. It's too bad Dan Marino never got one.

What about the 1972 AFC Championship Game between the Oakland Raiders and Pittsburgh Steelers at Three Rivers Stadium. Oakland was up 7-6, and the Steelers were trying to do something. It was 4th and 10, and Terry Bradshaw tried to throw to John Fuqua, but the pass hit Jack Tatum and fell into the hands of Franco Harris as he scooted to the endzone and Pittsburgh won 13-7. That play was known as "The Immaculate Reception."

Yea those Steelers had some good teams. They got just about all their players from the 1970's in the Hall Of Fame. Meanwhile the Cowboys got just 7 people in the Hall Of Fame. If only we could have beat them in those Super Bowls.:(

The Redskins should have beat the Dolphins in Super Bowl 7, and then they should have beaten the Raiders in Super Bowl 18. :(

I watched That Super Bowl 18 game. ouch. It was a pretty close game up to Halftime. The Redskins had a good shot at winning Super Bowl 7.

Yeah, but at least we did win some Super Bowls. Some teams like the Cardinals, Vikings, Lions, Seahawks, Chargers, Texans, Oilers, Panthers, Jaguars, Saints, Falcons, Eagles, Titans, Bengals, and Browns haven't won one yet. :(

Oh, and remember Super Bowl 34 between the Rams and Titans. The Titans were down 23-16, and Steve McNair guided the Titans to the Rams' 8 yard line. McNair then, threw the ball to Kevin Dyson and he was brought down at the 1 yard line and he tried to outstretch his arm with the ball into the endzone, but he came up short and time had expired.

I felt like crying for the Titans.......they were so close to at least sending the game into overtime. :( :crying:

My favorite team is the Washington Redskins, but I'm going with an NFL theme for avatars so I'll probably use a picture to represent every team.

It has to suck sharing a stadium with another team. That means that both teams can't play there at the same time slot unless they're playing each other, and then one of the teams will have to be the away team.

The only other instance of teams sharing a stadium was when the Rams and Raiders played home games at the Los Angeles Coliseum (which the USC Trojans call home). The Rams had to be happy when they moved to Anaheim and played in a stadium to themselves for the most part.

The only other sport that could affect a NFL team's game location is baseball because they can play on football fields. Some of the stands will have to be moved around to accomdate for each sport.

The same thing applies to basketball and hockey sometimes. For example, if the Chicago Blackhawks (which play at the United Center) play at home that night and the Chicago Bulls play a game on the same night, then the Bulls can't play at home because the Blackhawks are.

we used to, but it switched to UPN in the summer of 1997 :(

man, if only my area could receive WB 50 from Washington, D.C. or WB 33 from Norfolk, VA. :(

we lost our wb affiliate in 1999 for about 6 months. Then our cable company gave us another wb channel. I hardly watch anything off UPN. The channel we got was wb 50 out of Washington D.C.

my area can receive the WB, but only if you stay up from 3-5 am on weekdays and from 4-5 am on the weekends, because that's the only times this area can see WB programming (on our NBC channel) :( :mad:

wb 50 is a pretty good channel. I watch about 4 or 5 shows on it. Our local Fox affiliate also broadcasts a few hours of wb programing a week.

The most recent time I really got hooked on the WB was when I was at Delaware State University in Dover and their cable lineup had WB 17 from Philadelphia.

I watch too much TV, too. :lol: Briefly, I watched WB shows like Do Over, Charmed, Family Affair, Reba, and other comedies like Just Shoot Me, The Drew Carey Show, Friends, and Seinfeld.

I just don't watch too much sitcoms from today. Some that I do watch from time to time are My Wife And Kids, The Bernie Mack Show, Grounded For Life, and 8 Simple Rules. I think the old sitcoms were better. Oh and I watch Malcolm In the Middle. Thats a pretty good show.

I agree with you. Shows like Small Wonder (my favorite), Punky Brewster, Alf, Three's Company, Happy Days, and many others before 1993 are a gazillion times better than shows of today.

The networks need to heed this and listen to the public's demands for bringing back great classic shows. :mad:
