View Full Version : Is "Wings" More "Orderly" Than "Cheers"?

I know that NICK messes up on "Wings" episodes every once in a while....they skip some, play some out of order, etc....but to be fair, for the most part there is SOME semblence of order and sequence to NICK's "Wings" episodes.....

Maybe it's just me, and maybe I'm missing something here, but it seems that there is NO (or very little) sequential order to NICK's "Cheers" airings....you'll get a few later episodes with Rebecca and Woody, then some very early episodes with Diane and Coach, then some more later ones, etc.....they seem to be scattered all over the place! (And like "Wings", much of the understanding and enjoyment of "Cheers" relies on you watching the episodes in their proper order).

Sure, there are some glitches and gaps in the scheduling, but at least it seems like NICK is making an attempt to present "Wings" in SOME sort of logical sequence...this just doesn't seem to be the case with their other series.

(For the record, it looks like the sequential order of "Three's Company" is pretty messed up too, but at least THAT series doesn't rely on continuing and developing story lines like "Wings" and "Cheers" do).

As a Cheers fan, I'll admit the sequential order stinks.

N@N is terrible when it comes to that theres usually absolutely no order sometimes they play it in the right order for a few days but then they start skipping eps again it sux

I remember years ago, N@N did a voice over of the ending credits to some show. And they said something like, "Would you read a book starting with the middle? Of course not. That's why we air our shows in chronological order." I guess they did away with that whole thing, huh.

Here's a "side bar" question for those of you who used to watch "Wings" on USA...

Did USA show the "Wings" episodes in chronological order? (This was before my time as a "Wings" fan!).

I just can't imagine watching a "Wings" episode one day where Joe and Helen are married, another the next day where they're split up and Joe is dating Gail, another the next day where they're engaged, etc.....

"Wings" has a "Soap Opera" type of continuity, and it needs to be shown and watched that way!

Yeah, I think USA showed the episodes in order of production.
