Yet ANOTHER episode that I missed the first time around on NICK!

I thought that this was a very powerful episode....Usually I find these "semi-serious" stories (usually concerning extended family members or ex-loves) kind of dull and boring, but THIS one held my interest throughout the entire half-hour.

The acting by Tim and Steven was SUPERB....I thought it was interesting how Brian's attitude would switch with his mother. One minute he would have a happy and carefree "Hey, so you left us and went to prison...no big deal...It's just GREAT having you here NOW!" attitude, then he would get sullen and ask, "So why did you leave us, Mom?".
Of course you could cut Joe's bitterness with a knife.

This episode may not have appealed to some people, but I thought that it was very well done.....and there were even some good laughs sprinkled among the heart-wrenching moments!

I liked it too. I'm not one for "very special episodes" but I think Wings dealt with serious moments very well. I always get a little teary-eyed near the end.

That's so like a sitcom. All those years of Joe's anger towards his mother resolved in a half hour!:lol:

I've seen this episode a few times and couldn't help but get tears in my eyes at the scene with Joe and his mom, especially when he told her that he thought the reason she left was because he broke her pitcher. No tears last night. I guess I'm used to it finally. I liked it, and Brian is so realistic at acting like he really missed seeing his mom all those years. Oh, and he was a hoot in the last scene where he had those things in his eyes(I think they were those individual coffee creamers) and then he was looking at his reflection in the side of the napkin holder. What a goofball!! :lol: :lol:

I also had never seen that one before either.
I very much enjoyed it. great episode!
