View Full Version : Wow there are sure a lot of FoL fans here!
Purple Velvet Bohemian 02-01-2001, 06:52 PM Wow! I had no idea there were so many FoL fans out there! I am just curious, how old are you guys? I am the same age as the girls in the cast, and I used to watch it when it was on the first time. I didn't start watching the reruns until this year, and man it sure brings back memories. I can remember when Jo first came on the show. I told my Mom that has got to be Phillip McKeon's (Tommy on Alice) sister! They look so much alike! Well, anyway I'm glad there are people who like the show, that means it will be on Nick at Nite for a while.
JoPol_wannabe 02-01-2001, 07:14 PM I'm 18 and I did watch the last 2 seasons in there orginal run.

JO: Oh no Tootie, I hate teaching people how to drive... They're always nervous, they make stupied mistakes, and they cry when you slap them.
Blair's Poem: "If you hit a dead end
Then Look on the shelf
There might be a clue
Maybe in a book."
Tootie: That's the pot calling the kettle black.
Nat: A flash back within a flash back... I'm so brilliant it scares me.

Tootie: hot stuff coming through, and the pizza's are warm too!
Jinny: i think i am going to give up men
Magda: you, give up sex?
Jinny: i didn't say i was giving up sex, i just said i was giving up men! to tell you the truth i kinda like the idea of becoming intamate with something that comes with a money-back gaurentee!
Jinny: You sure he's still up and moving around there, Cap?
Captin: Jinny do you really think that a crack about the age of your commanding officer is the smartest thing you could say under the circumstances
Jinny: umm.. probley not
Captin: thats what I thought
JMPolniaczek15 02-01-2001, 08:02 PM I'm fourteen, going on fifteen. I just started to watch the show on a regular basis a couple of months ago.
ToddAO70 02-01-2001, 08:08 PM I'm 17 1/2. I've been watching FOL since the 9th season. I also watched it while it was on the USA networks and just started watching it again in September when they started showing them again.
Mary Covey 02-01-2001, 08:31 PM I'm 11 going on 12 this February 28! I started watching the show starting with the opening marathon on N@N. But I first found out about it and DS when CNN said that Dana Plato (Kimberly on DS) had died. I then started finding out about DS, discovered FOL, www.sitcomsonline.com/diffrentstrokes.html (http://www.sitcomsonline.com/diffrentstrokes.html) www.thefactsoflife.com/ (http://www.thefactsoflife.com/)
and I took off. Now, I'm hooked! (and visit TJ's FOL website, because the very first FOL website on the internet, www.thefactsoflife.com/ (http://www.thefactsoflife.com/) hasn't been updated since not long after it went off USA) Bye!~Mary http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/smile.gif

MiamiGirl 02-02-2001, 04:09 PM Binky, ClassicTV Man, and the rest of you "oldsters", you are not alone. I'm also 29, and I also watched FOL on NBC waaay back in the 80's. What a great show! I only started watching it again recently on N@N, and it brings back a lot of great memories of my teen years. Kudos to N@N for bringing back such a classic show!

Blair: Exactly
Jo:That's why it's gonna be even sweeter when we make it work
Blair: Make what work?
Jo: Ya know tonight I was gonna say no to Eddie but you've helped me realize that he's the only one I can trust and maybe we don't have anything else but we have each other
80skid 02-02-2001, 04:49 PM I'm thirteen (going on fourteen in a few months! can't wait!!!) and have been watching regularly since Sept., watching some episodes when I was home sick and it was on USA, and actually saw part of FOL go to Paris in fifth grade in French class, I just realized it was FOL now when watching it last week!
Purple Velvet Bohemian 02-02-2001, 06:24 PM Wow! So many young ones in here! I'm glad there are some my age though. I'm 32, and I started watching it when it first aired (I was 11). lesliem14 02-02-2001, 07:41 PM I'm 20, didn't watch it until N@N. My mom hated the show so I didn't see it in the original run and I somehow missed it on USA which I'm still trying to figure out how I did that because I used to watch USA all the time.
Hello, everybody! I'm 36, and I will be (gulp!) 37 next month, so, I guess that makes me the oldest of the bunch.
I started watching FOL in 1982 (my senior year in high school) and watched fairly regularly until the end of the series (my first year of graduate school). I also watch re-runs on our local UHF station in the mid-to-late 1980's and early 1990's.
jamier42 02-08-2001, 02:56 PM I am 23 years old and I have watched The Facts of Life since it started on Channel 4. I like Jo, Natalie, and Mrs.G.
J Polniaczek 02-08-2001, 05:52 PM I just turned 18. (Today, in fact!) I've loved FOL since I was a little kid, and I was psyked when it came on N@N. Now, I get upset when I miss an episode!
BlairW_1 02-08-2001, 06:41 PM I'm 11 (Turning 12 one day after Nancy McKeon's birthday, April 5), and started watching during the 2nd marathon. I haven't stopped watching it since!
