hey everyone...these things have been bugging me, so i thought i'd mention them.

1. everyone, when they first meet jo, call her "jo," not joanna. when mrs. g. first met her, then last nite the new teacher called her jo...how do they know that's what she likes to be called? it's like when i first meet ppl they don't automatically call me "jess." they'll be like, "what do u like to be called?" or something
2. did u ever notice how when certain characters get into BIG arguments in the dining area, and there's characters in the kitchen that is RIGHT NEXT DOOR, the characters from the kitchen walk in like they don't know what's going on, even though it's obvious anyone in the kitchen would be able to hear yelling in the dining area. like in "let's party" last nite, mrs. g. went into the kitchen to make cocoa, and jo was like, (very loudly) "he was drunk" (or something like that), then later mrs. g. walks in like she doesn't know what's going on.
maybe it's just me, but those things bug me. lol. i rambled on enough now tho, so bye.

well for the name thing sometimes when u send applications into camps or schools and they ask what do u like to be called like a nick name or something..she might have put jo..and also people dont nessicarly ask u what u like to be called~ i am really a katherine and people call me so many different things(kate, katie, kath, kathy, alex(middle name), katrina, katlin, kates...many more)with out even asking...and no one ever calls me katherine unless i am in trouble..hehe

I agree with lil_miss_goodwrench_518. I go to a school where on class lists, you're by your real name and not your nickname, but I go to a camp where they have on the application "State the name you wish to be called." Maybe Eastland had something like that http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/wink.gif I also agree on the fact I'm never called by my real name unless I'm in trouble!!! http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/smile.gif Anyway, both episodes were great but I couldn't help crying along with Jo in the first. I had a teacher in sixth grade who I absolutely thought was the greatest, plus she was my advisor (we have advisories) and then she left at the end of the year and now it doesn't seem the same without her. I get to see her in eighth grade when I graduate, but I couldn't help sympathizing with Jo!

Ya. In some grades at my school, they ask for a nickname, or wat u like to be called. They didn't this year, but my name is Rachel, and everyone calles me Ray. But I do write Ray on all my papers. But at the beginin of the year I didn n they still called me Ray. Maybe they call u something, and if u dont say anything about it, just keep calling you that.

I was thinkgint he EXACT same thign about last nights' Let's Party Episode!!!! hehe... when blair, jo, and tootie were like yelling at eachother and mrs. garrett didnt even HEAR a word was VERy odd!!! and whats with sometimes not having a kitchen!! like when mrs. g walks in from the kitchen there is just a wall!! that happens in some episodes since the 2nd season... don't you find that odd?? hehe... ya think nobody woudl notice if we put a wall where the kitchen should be? (sarcastic) but i was thinking the same thing! http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/smile.gif

What I want to know is not how the new teacher knew she wanted to be called Jo, not Joanna... It's "how did the new teacher know how to pronounce 'Polniaczek'?"
