Hi all!
I've been watching my FRIENDS DVDs lately and got up to the episodes during Season 3 where Dina guest-starred as Joey's girlfriend. For those of you who don't know, she played an actress named Kate who at first banged heads with Joey but ultimately fell in love with him. Alas, before things could get serious, Kate got a job in L.A. to do General Hospital and had to leave Joey.
It wasn't a spectacular romance a la Ross & Rachel, or Monica & Chandler, but a thought occurred to me nonetheless. Since Matt LeBlanc is set to star in "Joey" for the fall season of 2004 (with Joey moving to L.A. to pursue his acting career), could it be possible for Dina to either guest-star or, preferably, even be a permanent cast member? One thing that is noteworthy is that the character 'Kate' was the first girl that 'Joey' had serious feelings for, and it might be interesting for the show "Joey" to revisit that.
What say you guys? Think this is a good idea? I loved Dina Meyer on "Birds of Prey" and would prefer to have you there but since the show is cancelled :( , I think the next best thing would be to have her as a regular on "Joey". Even if that's not possible and she could only be on it as a guest-star or recurring cast member, it'd be better than nothing. And the more familiar "Friends" ties that are brought to the new show, the more I think people could accept it. I know it's not much of a tie but it's a step in the right direction.
