I am very sad today. I discovered that tonights showing of Brutally Yours, Bob Hartley, will be the last Bob Newhart show to air on TV Land. It will be replaced with Gilligan's Island starting tomorrow. This is very crappy cuz I need about 20-30 more non consecutive episodes to complete the ultimate collection. Damn you TV Land. Anyone want to pool some cash together and purchase the rights to the show? :wink2:

TV Land still has the rights to The Bob Newhart Show until Fall 2004, but currently the show is on hiatus, however it could return anytime up until next Fall. For more information about the TV Land September schedule, check Pavanbadal's thread (http://www.sitcomsonline.com/boards...?threadid=76942). BTW, Welcome to the Boards!

Well ****. Do you happen to know if TV Land will air it again before their contract expires next fall? I really really really want to finish my collection. Thanks for the welcome!!

No, but I'm sure it will show up sometime before their contract expires, if not, they could always renew the rights to The Bob Newhart Show.

Well, Cr@P!

I haven't posted at all on this board but am a long time BN fan who was also taping the eppies.

To my horror Gilligan's Island has taken The Bob Newhart Show's time slot.

I hate to bring up old topics, but I have to share that watching "The Bob Newhart Show" at 2 AM (and later 2:30 AM) was part of my summer routine. I would have been perfectly happy if the show had remained buried in late night, just as long as it was on. I still don't understand why TVLand can't air the show in the depths of late night. I also feel that TVLand will never have a two-hour block period as genius as "Get Smart"/"Bob Newhart"/"Mary Tyler Moore"/"Dick Van Dyke." TVLand now seems to cater to kitsch more than quality.

When the show's rights are lost in the Fall of 2004, does that mean that the show has the chance of resurfacing elsewhere?
