Meh, who cares. Its pretty easy to get every ep off TBS which actually airs them in order with few exceptions and its not like we'll get any special features. So if you just tape it off TBS (which if you start now will take about 3 months) and a DVD isn't going to give you much better, except for quality of course, and totally uncut if you're like me and are always slow at pressing record after commercials! :lol:

Hey, ya never know, though...there could be some great commentaries by some o' the cast! Maybe good behind-the-scenes footage too...

I think this is kinda like "Golden Girls", though---as long as it's shown "weekdaily" all the time on one station, probably no real DVD promise...it'd be more likely if it was totally off the air, I'd say.

They haven't cut scenes...maybe there's a bit here 'n there, but I dunno---I haven't noticed much difference between my tapes from circa 1990 yet...I'd have to do some research.

Well, I've noticed on my tapes that they run about 20 minutes, I think some are close to 21. That's without end credits.

Which episodes are aired out of order besides the Hawaii episodes and the episodes that seperate them? I hope its nothing significant. Hopefully I can tape the rest of this rotation and get all the episodes before TBS slips A LOT.

Mainly the 1st season...You can see which ones I have listed as the original order they aired in, in the episode guide thread posted here :)

It seems like TBS is doing it to recieve some continuity, except for Vint and the Kids move in which should always be first.

At first,when Mama's Family went into syndication with reruns of the NBC shows,they ALWAYS showed "Vint and The Kids Move In" first. In fact,they showed each and every one of the NBC episodes plus the syndication episodes even "Gert Rides Again". When TBS first aired Mama's Family,they showed "Vint and The Kids Move In" plus "Gert Rides Again". But sometime after 2000 or so TBS put it on the air twice daily,and they got the episodes mixed up,especially the first season episodes,they show "Mama's Silver" as the first episode when the episode is really the 13th episode and Naomi isn't in it,and Vint and Naomi were married when the 13th episode occurred. And now with the "Jeopardy" episode where Mama wins the trip to Hawaii and then the Hawaii episodes are switched around again,you get to see part 1 then have to wait to see part 2:rolleyes:

I think TBS airs the first season episodes in production order. Mama's Silver is in fact, the first episode produced.

Well, the stations I caught MF back on around '90 in all the NBC and syndicated reruns also never showed the Alistair Quince intros---I don't think they've been seen since 1984! :eek: :(
