If Donna would have had a career outside the home, what do you think it would be? I think she would have been a nurse, because her husband Alex was a doctor.

Well, if she were going to be a nurse, she'd better not work for Alex! We found that out in "Mrs. Stone and Dr. Hyde", when she substituted for Alex's nurse... it wasn't exactly a pleasant experience.

Thinking it over, maybe she would be good in the diplomatic service, working in a foreign embassy or in some government job which requires the tactful handling of people. She certainly can be diplomatic.

I agree diplomatic service, or government or a lawyer. Somewhere she could argue well with others.

Or managing her son's career as a singer!

It was stated in several episodes that Donna used to be a nurse, so that's the obvious choice I guess. I could also see her as a decorator or something to do with helping children.

I first thought of Nurse because that is what her occupation was before. I also think she would work well with children so maybe an Elementary School Teacher.

Actually, I think Donna would have done quite well for herself had she gone into the catering business since she seemed to be able to concoct a very wide range of courses and desserts to be able to feed armies in no time flat! Seriously, if she and Harriet Nelson (the character NOT the performer) had gotten together, they could have put Banquet and Mrs. Smith out of business!
