This is GREAT! I never ever saw the original 1964-1966 Addams Family, and now thanks to Hallmark I will! LucyFan is going to be SOOOOOO happy about this lol. Hallmark is definatly a great channel now. Once September rolls around, it will be so great. "Matlock," "Little House on the Prairie" and now for two days, "The Addams Family"! Maybe if the ratings are good, they will put it on the regular schedule!! Way to go, Hallmark!

I agree. I was losing hope for Hallmark, considering all they seemed to care about airing was westerns. At least there will be a little more variety this fall. MASH I'm not fond of, and can't understand why it's airing so many times. Didn't it get run into the ground enough on fX.

I still think Hallmark could be another "TV Land 2" if they just balance out their dramas (cut back on Perry Mason!) and add more sitcoms (and just plain add them) to weekdays, as well as balance out the westerns.

I'm very happy about this news. I've missed The Addams Family, and will be recording as many of the episodes as I can. Thank you Hallmark Channel! :D

I also though it's be perfect as a TVLand 2. They should bring back 'Facts' and maybe even get the rights to 'Strokes' and 'Gimmie a Break' and have some sort of 80's comedy block. Since they already have Facts, Strokes would be perfect to air along with it. I haven't seen Gimmie a Break in years, (RIP Nell), and it'd be perfect for Hallmark. It was also included on one of their surveys. I can already see the schedule.

4PM Diff'rent Strokes
5PM Facts of Life
6PM Gimmie a Break

Maybe get the rights to other shows too. I'm just dying to see any of those on the air, especially the last one. :D

WOW, this is was a totally unexspected surprise! :eek2: Finally, The Addams Family after all these years (it seems like) is going to . . . like actually air! I'm so thrilled about this . . . I can't even wait! When I first saw this thread, I about wet myself. lol
:D

Does this mean that Hallmark has the permanent rights to The Addams Family?

Wouldn't it be ironic if TV Land had a Munsters marathon on the same exact weekend of Hallmark's Addams Family marathon?

"The Addams Family" used to be a marathon on WPIX-TV last Halloween on WB11. I wonder the Hallmark Channel will pick up the rights to the marathon starting late October. Besure to watch it. I haven't seen "The Addams Family" in a long time since the early 80's on one of the local TV stations throughout New York City.

As of now, they have no plans to air it as a regular series. It is just a Halloween stunt.
