I am not sure if this topic has been broached on this board before, but which Star Trek film is your favorite? Personally, for me it would be "Star Trek II: Wrath of Khan." Runners up would include: "Star Trek III: Search for Spock," "Star Trek IV: Voyage Home," and "Star Trek VI: Undiscovered Country." Heck, I even liked "Star Trek: Motion Picture." Needless to say, I am a TOS fan all the way.

The Voyage Home :rock:

"First Contact." I thought it was exceptionally well written, and time travel stories always work. If you stay after the movie ends and listen to the music over the end credits, it's about the best arrangement of the "Trek" theme song I've ever heard.

Star Trek: The Wrath of Khan (A+) - One of the best Star Trek movies of all time, The Wrath of Khan is a perfectly-scripted tale of action, adventure, humor. Great acting and a unique tragic/optimsitic ending. (**Movie All-Star**)

Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home (A+) - A perfectly melded mix of humor and science fiction, the infamous "one with the whales" is a comedy classic and also has an AWESOME surprise at the end! (**Movie All-Star**)

Star Trek: First Contact (A+) - The Wrath of Khan of the TNG era, First Contact has a crossover, action, humor and an exciting plot that doesn't stop until the end. (**Movie All-Star**)

Star Trek: Nemesis (A+) - The perfect example of a great Trek tale involves continuity, crossovers, humor, radical special effects and action, great characterization and dialogue and an awesome musical score. (**Movie All-Star**)

Star Trek: The Undiscovered Country (A) - A great final voyage for the entire TOS crew. Slow near the middle, but great everywhere else. (**Movie All-Star**)

Star Trek: Insurrection (A) - Although not the best of the Trek features, Insurrection has an interesting plot, great humor and engaging action sequences. (**Movie All-Star**)

Star Trek V: The Final Frontier (A) - A cracking adventure with great special effects, hilarious bits of humor and more. Very much 'Trek.' (**Movie All-Star**)

Star Trek: Generations (B) - The torch is passed in the seventh Trek movie. Good humor and well-executed action is dragged down somewhat by some bad drama involving Picard and Data and a downbeat ending.

Star Trek III: The Search for Spock (B) - After an awesome first half with humor, great spacedock scenes and more, this movie flops during its second half.

Star Trek: The Motion Picture (B-) - Although the spacedock scenes are great and there are some nice touches of humor, the first Trek movie drags severly.

Let's see. Of the films based on the original series, in no particular order:

Star Trek The Motion Picture - Yes, it is a bit long, but I find it very entertaining.

Wrath Of Kahn - Kick ass movie. Really got the movie franchise rolling. Kaaaaaaaaahn!

Voyage Home - Funny stuff.

Undiscovered Country - Great finale with the original cast. Awsome suspense. Christopher Plummer is a great Klingon.

Honorable Mention - The Final Frontier A bit weak in spots, but Kirks "I need my pain" speech is classic.

Next Generation Films:

Generations - Kirk and Picard kicking ass and taking names.

First Contact - Probably the best Next Generation film.

For me, the Jury is still out on "Nemesis." I have to see it a few more times to decide.

I do like them all pretty much, but I'll say "Voyage Home". Hearing Chekov ask about the "Nuclear Wessels" cracks me up every time, and there is alot more interesting and funny stuff going on in that movie too. One part I would have liked to have seen was the scene where Sulu met his Great-Grandfather as a kid. That would have been interesting, too bad it was cut.

I say Star trek 4 (Voyage home) but I like all movies (1-7) and have them on VHS :)

The Voyage Home was/is my favorite, though any movie with the original cast that was basically an extended ep (2, 3, 4, and The Undiscovered Country) were good,

ST-TMP sucked as did the search for God one directed by Shatner.

The movies with the Next Gen characters wanted to be "special".

As such, they failed, IMHO.
