Born in 1972 too and I have to admit, I never watched it because we did not get NBC at that time. My friends all watched it though. I'm a regular Nick At Nite watcher anyway so I thought it was great to see that they would be running FOL. I am watching all these episodes for the first time. It's a great show and brings me back to the 80's, thought I think for the most part the episodes are pretty timeless.

I believe I am third generation, based on something said on the E True Hollywood Story...

first Generation... those who saw the original run.

Second generation- 1993 USA viewers.

third generation- N@N converts.

I started watching Wed nights back in 1984 at age 7. I guess that make me 1st generation. The show was syndicated in 1986 for 5 day week airings.

I somehow fall into all three. I watched the last two seasons during its original run, but I watched it mostly--and developed a first love of the show--during its reruns in the 90s. And now i've sort of "rediscovered" it on Nick at Nite.

sambino, if you were born in 84, you are a 2nd generation. You would've only been 4 when the show was canceled.

I am from the 1st Generation, I remember watching it everyday and I was young too. I was excited when I heard that it was coming to Nick at Nite. Because also I wanted to see it again and now I tape them. I even remembered the cast of the show too.

Mr. Bradley: .....and that girls is the thrill of victory!

Tootie: Or the agony of DA FEET!

*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*

(Tootie starts rambling)

Natalie (thinking): I am going to nail her mouth to the floor. I can picture it now there'd be a spike through her tongue, but the lips would still be moving. She'd just keep whining on and on about how she'd never do that to me because she's my best friend. And if it made me feel guilty about nailing her mouth to the floor than she's glad I did it and......
(stops and realizes everyone's looking at her)

J: You mean 50/50? Uh... 50/50...50?
B: Good, Jo! Why don't you do the books?
----------
B: A fire! There's been a fire here!
----------
B: And how are we, Aunt Natalie?
N: We are suicidal!
----------
Bailey: They losted me!
----------
T: You mean the agony of da feet!
----------
T: Did I lie?
----------
T: They can't dance? Ha! That's like the pot calling the kettle black!
----------
N: E Pluribus Unum; have a nice day!

I am a first generation... I was 3 years old when the show began, and my family always watched it.. I literally grew up with Facts of Life and Diff'rent Strokes. I don't remember the earlier episodes of Facts of Life very well, but I remember being with my older sisters when they watched it, and they never missed it.

Yep, I'm a first generation watcher. Born in 1967, I grew up watching the FOL. I did not pay much attention to the later seasons because I was in college.

my parents used to watch it. born in '86 the only of FOL that i used to watch was when the theme music came wod just stand there and stare at the screen and listen to the music. For some reason if my parents liked the show so much then i wonder y they didn't watch it the '90s? well, oh well.

Wow, I'm really impressed at how many first generation FOL fans there are here. I'm a 1st generation as well. I was born in 1978. I didn't see the first couple of seasons when the originally aired, but I saw them in reruns during the off season. I grew up watching FOL :)

I remember seeing the episode where Mrs. Garrett leaves on USA though...I HATED THAT!! I didn't like Mrs. G as much as I do now, but, I still thought she was cool!(once a Mrs. G fan, always a Mrs. G fan!;)) I also remember seeing the Austraila movie...but...I don't remember if it was on N@N or USA...it's kinda strange...not the movie, but, my memories of the show...

Well, as a matter of fact, I escaped. But don't tell anyone.;)

Hey, if anyone wants to get their own Time/Space Pod with cable hookup, your friendly neighborhood Circuit City is running a special. First 100 customers get a jar of orange or grape flavored Tang...you know, like what the astronauts drank?

What a deal.:D

Well, I was born in late 1975, and I remember the show and seeing previews for "Mrs. Garrett takes off to Eastland to learn The Facts of Life." I remember watching the show as a kid because it just cracked me up with the silly humor.

I wish I had used our VCR to tape shows. Fortunately my parents didn't follow my advice when we bought our first VCR. I was about 7 or 8, and I told them to buy a Beta because the tapes looked cooler. I'm glad they didn't listen to me! ;)
