"Hanover", is based on the character of Woody Boyd (of Cheers fame), which is the story of the innocent farmboy from Hanover, Indiana who went to the big city of Boston to bartend in the 4th season of the acclaimed series, "Cheers".
"Back in Hanover" begins its story in the final season of "Frasier", Woody comes to Seattle to see his dear friend, Dr. Frasier Crane, having trouble with his parents' death, and beyond that, his son won't talk to him. Frasier agrees to let the Boyds stay with him for the weekend, but Woody overstays his welcome, by about 5 weeks.
It is now 11 years after Woody got his job as city councilman of Boston and Woody decides to return to his home town of Hanover to take over the family farm. Along with Woody, comes his wife Kelly Boyd (Jackie Swanson) and Woody Boyd Jr.
In Hanover, Woody reunites with his cousin Russell Boyd, a reclusive artist out of a job and money. Woody offers Russel to move in with him, and all hell breaks out when Woody discovers his cousin is a male stripper.
