Has anyone here ever been an extra in a movie? Have you ever got paid for it?
About an hour and a half/2 hours away from me they are filming the new knights of the round table film with Keira Knightley, and apparently they paid thousands of punds for all the extras, and after they did a practise of the scene they decided not to use them. The films very much overbudget currently- but they might need extras again, I'd love to be an extra but I wouldn't go 2 hours away, cos I think they only hire locals- even though this is one of the few times they film movies on location in the UK- there's always sitcoms...
Apparently, the director wants everything authentic- furniture, coins, walls- the moss on set got damaged so he spents thousands to have sum brought in from galway- it's freakin' dirt!
Studio execs are meant to fly in to inspect it- It'll probably be top of the box office but at the rate money is spent, number 1 just won't be enough. It may just go the way of Cleopatra.
Then again- executives may stop production- even though almost half the film is supposedly filmed
