Gomer Pyle was one of my favorite sitcoms on television, but I think that Gomer Pyle should have deserved to be promoted to any rank higher than Private First Class. What rank do you think Gomer should be promoted to? He really wasn't a dumb character.

I agree. Gomer was a lot smarter them some people gave him credit for.

There was an episode in which someone visiting the base wanted to see Gomer's records. After reviewing them & seeing how spotless they were, he demanded to know why he had not been promoted to Corporal.

He was too kind hearted and wimpy to have any kind of authority. No one would take him serious.
