The post count I saw was 1,000,990 something, which means that only 900+ posts have been made after the 1 million. So we have conflicting post counts.

Okay, then. Here's my theory - the postid thing on the top is the TOTAL posts that have been made to date, but you know with the flamers and bad people coming here, TJ has to delete posts...So that would bring down the total post count to the one that appears on the main SO board page. :)

Here's another fact.....and try to remain calm on this. Nobody really knows when they made a milestone post as far the overall number of posts on SO.

To do that, there would have to be like maybe 1 or 2 people (no more than 10 at the most) that only logs on at any given time. Since way more than that log on (at almost all times of any day), it's almost impossible to narrow down who made the 1 millionth post down to a single person at that exact moment.
