View Full Version : Lots of Repressed Father Issues In "The Hulk"

Okay psyche majors, I've noticed something...

In today's episode "Killer Instinct," David encounters a football player who's repressed anger toward his father causes him to beat up other players.

In "A Child In Need," David encounters a man who's repressed anger toward his Father causes him to beat up his son.

Perhaps someone involved with the show has a few issues they're not dealing with?

;)

 Good observation! And you may just be right. Subtle hints to the person's own father.

Or hating your dad was just a fad at the time. ;)

Having seen photos of the clothing my parents made me wear in the 70's there was a lot of repressed resentment going on.

You need to stop making fun of people who may have been
abused as children. That sort of thing does happen in the good
old United States. We are not as snow white and innocent a
nation as you probably think. The writers on The Incredible Hulk
just wanted to communicate that there is such a thing as child
abuse and broken homes. You should have more compassion
toward victims of child abuse in this country-we all should!

I'm sorry if you thought I was making light of the subject of child abuse. I just thought it was odd that they used the same plot device in two episodes that aired only weeks apart.

Uh oh....I forgot. :( I'll double it tonight.

And TJL is a very, very sweet guy. He, well none us would ever joke about child abuse. It's a very serious topic and some people.......some people shouldn't have children. That's all I'll say about that. If TJL came in here and was really and truly making cracks like 'Haha that kid was getting the **** beat out of him. Don't cry, Mark. Take it like a man, boy!' Some junk like that, that'd really be low class. It really and truly would be. But he didn't and wouldn't say anything crude. He really is a nice guy.
