Which family drama from the 70s do you prefer? My choice is definatly the "Little House"!!! I like "The Waltons," but LHOTP could make you laugh, cry, throw stuff at the TV (at Nellie of course), and all sorts of things. TW wasn't as fun as LHOTP imo, which is why I think LHOTP appealed to kids and teens more. Both were featured on "I Love the 70s" and LHOTP got more better recollections. I think TW was sorta boring, but it was alright. I just think that LHOTP was more fun and interesting, and plus it had GREAT characters and GREAT writing, and the most of all: a GREEEEEEAAAAAAAAAT cast!!

I love Little House. I could never get into The Waltons.

I prefer Little House. I was never able to get into The Waltons, it was slow and there were too many characters to keep up with.

Little House. I was too little to see it when it was first on, but I grew up seeing the reruns in syndication. I first saw the reruns as a little girl in the 1980s sitting on my grandma's lap. She gave me a set of Laura Ingalls Wilder's books, which I still love.

In 2005 I went to Arizona to the Tombstone Western Film Festival, which featured Melissa Gilbert (Laura), Dean Butler (Almanzo), Alison Arngrim (Nellie), Allison Balson (Nancy), Charlotte Stewart (Miss Beadle), Hersha Parady (Alice Garvey), Lindsay Greenbush (Carrie), Brenda & Wendi Turnbaugh (Grace), Stan Ivar (John Carter), Pam Roylance (Sarah Carter), and Brian Part (Carl Edwards). There were autograph signings, episode screenings, Q&As (the funniest one was dedicated to the Oleson sisters...Alison and Allison), picture taking, and more.

It was fun and totally family-oriented. Melissa Gilbert came with her husband, Bruce Boxleitner and their kids, Brian Part brought his wife along, Alison Arngrim brought her husband, and the Turnbaugh twins brought their parents. Many other Western stars appeared, such as Jon Provost (Lassie), Mariette Hartley, Kathy Garver, Stella Stevens, to name a few.

I never really got into The Waltons. I never saw it as a child and saw very few reruns as an adult. I did enjoy the Christmas pilot movie, The Homecoming, and loved the grandparents, but never felt the connection that I do to LH.

One redeeming factor The Waltons have that LH doesn't -- a guest appearance by Gregory Sierra!! :eyes: :heart: :drool: He was very hot-looking in the Season 1 episode "The Gypsys". :eyes: :eyes: :eyes:
