I was just curious about the best concert you have ever been to. I am going to go to the Mariah Carey concert next Tuesday and this will also be my first experience at a concert. So in a way I am a concert virgin.

The best concert experience for me was the Shakira concert I went to. It was very emotional for me because it was the first time I had been somewhere where almost everyone was dark and Hispanic like me. Everyone was like a family. Everyone was really nice and we were all there for the same reason. It was great.

I won a sweepstakes in 1992 to see the band Extreme in Paris, France. For those not familiar with Extreme, they were a band out of Boston and had 2 big hits-More Than Words & Hole Hearted in the early 90's. They were my favorite band at the time and even though they're broken up now, they will still be one of my favorites. Alot of people thought they're a ballad band but they were much, much more than that. For anybody who gets a chance to listen to their 1st & 2nd CD(Extreme & Pornograffitti), it kicks major bootay!!

Anyhoo, not only did we get free tickets from the sweepstakes, but we were able to get backstage passes from one of their roadies, who remembered us from when Extreme was recording their 3rd CD in Ft. Lauderdale, and we often went down to the studio. We also met Joan Jett at the show backstage, and she was so cool. She was playing the next night at another venue in Paris and she was going to put us on her guest list, but we were leaving to go home the next morning. All the luck!!

I saw Billy Joel perform at Yankee Stadium many years ago during his "Storm Front" tour.

It's a rarity for any artist to do a concert there, so it was pretty cool.

The Distillers/No Doubt last October. The looks on my friends faces when the DIstillers went on was priceless. Don't take hip hop fans to see the distillers w/o telling them:lol: Not the best concert I've been to, but it was funny.

I've loved all the concerts Ive been to, but the best one would def. have to be Justin Timberlake @ the Axis Club in Boston. It was a very small nightclub, and the vibe was totally different. I was so close, the people were older, and Justin wasnt all dressed up and he was different. The NSYNC NSA tour was my first one, so in a way thats my fav. because I was so obessed with them and I remember not being able to sleep the night before and the night after.

I always thought my favorite concert was Faith and Tim during the Soul 2 Soul tour, but that changed after I saw Martina on July 14th of this year. Sara Evans is also right up there with those 2.

MonarC, that's the reason they decided to call themselves Extreme, because their music is certainly not all the same. I take it you don't like hard rock. I remember one of my friends went to the record store to buy Pornograffitti just for More Than Words. She was looking for it in the easy listening section. When she asked one of the employees where it was at, he directed her to the hard rock section. I, myself, am sick of M.T.W. It's my least favorite song from them now, thanks to all the radio stations playing it to death.

Actually I do like hard rock. Im into "Classic" Metallica, Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix & Nirvana just to mention a few. I just didn't like their style.

yep it hit halifax pretty bad, well all of the province. Most of it has power now but we went all yesterday without it and a lot of people still don't have any. My brother lives in halifax and he still doesn't have power all the food in his fridge is probably rotten. On the plus side i didn't have school yesterday or today:D

My best concert experience was in April 1996. I saw Goo Goo Dolls, No Doubt and Bush. I went to it alone cause my husband was out to sea.
Second would have to be the RHCP in May 03 I was only a few feet from Flea. I hate general admission and was in the first row on the left of the stage.

Well, I wouldn't say this was my best concert experience...but I got free tickets to a concert once. It was at this fair & me and my friend were walking around hanging with some of our friends who had to work there & the local news team asked us to sing a Sugar Ray song & we did & they gave us free 10th row seats to Sugar Ray and Michelle Branch tickets. It was alot of fun.

Me too. The setting is much more intimate than one of her regular concerts. And she sang I Ain't Goin' Down, which she doesn't at her regular concerts. Though, she has a lot more energy at them.

It was totally different than the one song... I pawned it  Oh, the curse of the power ballad...It makes you think that the whole album is like that. I'm sure there were a lot of unsuspecting folks who bought KISS' "Destroyer" album for the song "Beth" who were in for a total shock when they found out the whole album wasn't like that. ;)

I want to get those Extreme albums, they had great musical ideas, and guitarist Nuno Bettencourt was so good former Dokken guitarist George Lynch called him "one fiery little f:censored:er." I had their Extreme CD "Three Sides to the Truth" which had a great song, "Rest In Peace". Here's one of my favorite Extreme songs:

Get The Funk Out

ALBUM · Extreme ii: Pornograffitti (1990)

LYRICS If you don’t like what you see here
Nobody wants to take you prisoner
So let me make it nice and clear dear
The exit is right there
I don’t mean to be rude dude
But you’d better change your attitude

I don’t like what I see here

You’re all invited to the party
You know you didn’t have to come
No rotten apple gonna spoil my fun

If you don’t like what you see here
Get the funk out
We won’t try to force feed you
Get the funk out

You can’t please everbody
But everybody cannot please me
That’s why I do what I want to
So why don’t you do, do it to, do it to me, hey
So if you don’t like what you see here
You can always leave the country

I don’t like what I see here

You’re all invited to the party
You know you didn’t have to come
No rotten apple gonna spoil my fun

If you don’t like what you see here
Get the funk out
We won’t try to force feed you
Get the funk out

Best concert I ever went to: Gee, so many...

Black Sabbath with Van Halen opening in 1978 was great--but more for Van Halen: Eddie playing "Eruption" LIVE, Alex doing a killer drum solo, Michael Anthony bass solo, and David Lee Roth saying: "We just got back from Milwaukee and trying Milwaukee's finest--AND I AIN'T TALKING ABOUT ANY GAWDDAMN BEER!!!!":guitar::grineyes:
