What is everyones oppinion on buying movies before their official dvd/video release? I personally don't think it's hurting the industry as much as online movies would- even they don't have much effect cos alot of people don't have the computer space or the times to download them either.
Everytime I buy a copie or screener copy of a movie I ALWAYS buy either the dvd or vhs release when it comes out. I'd only buy a copy if I really wanted to see the movie. There's already alot of copies of Freddy Vs Jason on ebay and sold by the people on their websites.
Has anyone ever bought a movie copy online? Was the deal all ok?

crap! I accidentally bid £2.50 on a freddy vs jason vcd! It put in my bid and hit bid now and it asked me my email and password to sign in- I didn't have a damn clue that once you do that you placed a bid. Well, I was gonna do it anyway- but I was supposed to ask first!
My friend once accidetally bid £70 on an electric guitar, he emailed ebay and all and he couldn't take back the bid-but he lost the auction (phew!)- he also didn't know that the bid you type is your bid maximum, and didn't understand why everytime he types in a bid he's automatically outbid.

Anyway- how are your protected by ebay if you don't get what you paid for?

Every movie I've bought online were originals, so I can't say...
eBay is pretty reliable. I've bought many things from there before. Just make sure you bid from people who have high feedback numbers, just to be on the safe side. ;)

Note: Pirated movies are not always in the best condition. I wouldn't pay more than $5 for one. ;)

sorry for this posting alot- but I was searching for a PAL copy of 'Shock Treatment' and when I clicked on it I read the product description. The person who wrote the description stole my review for the movie Shock Treatment word for word- i think I reviewed it for a Yahoo Movies Page and Imdb.com-

I bought a Chicago DVD Screener bak in May. End after I clicked Buy it Now and I bought it, eBay e-mailed me saying that I shouldn't go through with it and they weren't responsible for it NEmore. But I still sent the lady a check, and she was so friendly, and she sent it before the check even cleared and didn't make me pay shipping. It was $25, and it was worth it.
