thanks:) Follow the instructions on Symantec's (Norton's) site : http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/w32.blaster.worm.removal.tool.html - and download the removal tool : http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/FixBlast.exe
just follow the instructions on that page step-by-step, it is all laid out clearly, then go get a free firewall (http://www.zonelabs.com/store/content/company/products/znalm/freeDownload.jsp) and antivirus (http://www.grisoft.com/us/us_dwnl_free.php)

Make sure you have, AND KEEP FREQUENTLY UPDATED these things:

A Virus Scanner

A Firewall

A program that finds and deletes "Spyware" and "Adware".

Other tips after you get these:

Don't use "KaZaA" or any other file-sharing program to download full versions of Virus Scanners/Firewalls, just go spend the 40 - 50 bucks and do it right. Like with the registering and everything. The Spyware/Adware removal programs are free, I'm pretty sure, so I guess you can get them from KaZaA. I wouldn't, though. I'd still go to their websites and get them.

Be sure to run the Spyware/Adware scanner, and the Virus Scanner to scan your computer at least once a week. I'd do the Spyware/Adware Removal program scanner at least once a day, especially when you're done using the Internet)

Make sure your Virus Scanner and Firewall are always running, ESPECIALLY if you are on the Internet; and MORE ESPECIALLY, (Not really a real phrase I don't think, lol) if you have any sort of an "Always on" Internet connection such as Cable, DSL, Satellite, etc. And MOST ESPECIALLY have them on if you're using any File-sharing network such as "KaZaA".

Hope this helps! If you want my suggestions on what of each type to use, post and say so. Good luck!

This is how I clean my system to keep it running smoothly.....

1. Use ScanDisk once a day
2. Use Disk Defragmenter once a day
3. Use QuickClean (a McAfee program) to shred files that can remain on my computer
4. Clean out my Temporary Internet Files folder
5. Clean out my TEMP files folder
6. Use my anti-virus software twice a day
7. Use No-Ads to block pop-up ads
8. Use Ad-Aware to check for spyware and stealthware
9. Use Microsoft DiskCleanup to clean my hard drive and get rid of space wasting files
10. Go to Microsoft to download Windows ME security updates
11. Use Zone Alarm as an additional protection to my computer's security.

All of these things have kept my computer stable for the most part for 3+ years.

Thats a nice list.. What i usually do is do it every friday... cept for spyware checking... which i do daily

1. Check for Spyware with Ad-aware and Spybot (Update Both)
2. Clean Temp Internet Files
3. get rid of unwanted cookies
4. Run Disk Cleanup to see if theres any temp files that need to be deleted
5. Update and Do a norton scan
6. Scan Disk
7. (On the last friday of the Month) Disk Defrag

I used to update XP every 4th friday but now I just do it when needed..
