If you don't know what a fallacy (sp?) it is a popular belief that is not true. One common example is the saying that coffee stunts your growth. This is false. I drank coffee when I was little and I have grown a lot. I am now 5'10 and am taller than the rest of my immediate family.
Another popular one is the belief that Mountain Dew lowers a man's sperm count. I believed this was true until a member pointed out to another member who said that he/she doesn't drink MD because of that reason that it was not true and that "I can't believe people still believe that." I wonder who started that fallacy?

What are some other ones that you can think of and did you ever believe any of the above two or any others?

I still say that's true  the doctors said I should have grown over 6 feet tall. What am I? Like... 5'3 and a half?! And the doctor said I'm done growing

The newest fallacy I've just discovered...

People told me "Gangs Of New York" was a great film, but now I know it's just not true.

;)

Chocolate/greasy food causes zits. No! Not unless your some freak and use it to exfoliate your pores.

If you dream that you die, you die in real life. People say its true.. but if your dead no one knows what you dreamt about!!!

I heard that was true. Amandas brother in law drinks MD like its going out of style, and he and his wife cant have a kid due to low sperm count. Who knows though. Coincidence perhaps.
