View Full Version : Question about the 2-Part Finale

Does anyone else think the two-part finale would have been better if it ended after the first part. I loved the first part where the Bundy and D'arcy's are being held hostage in the living room, and Kelly falls in love with that dumb guy. Then the woman shoots at Kelly, but Al blocks the view and gets shot himself. Then he takes out of his pocket his lucky shoe horn, which actually took the bullet. Then the guy proposes to Kelly, and Peg says all happy, "Our daughter is getting married. Isn't life great?" and then Al looks up at the shoe horn and says "Damn You!" I thought the show should have just ended there instad of having the second part. Does anyone agree?

I think the finale should've had a better ending than it did.

I agree, after eleven seasons, the show deserved a true ending. Sadly, however, MWC was cheated out of a true finale by being cancelled late in the season. Archie Bunker's Place and The Jeffersons suffered the same fate.

That's according to the broadcast order. I'm going by production order. And actually the last original episode to be aired was the lost episode, "I'll See You in Court".

My idea for a great finale, Al finally loses it, and kills Peg. He's tried, convicted and executed. The whole time he has this big ---- eating grin on his face. Next scene, Fire, brimstone. Al is greeted by the devil, played by Gilbert Gotfried .

DEVIL: Welcome to hell Al Bundy.
AL: (Still grinning) I've already been there. ( A wall opens up)
DEVIL: Enter here for All eternity
Al enters still grinning suddenly he is back in his living room greeted by Peg,
Peg: Oh Al here we are together forever. (Al has a look of Horror on his face)

I went to the episode's profile on tv.com and saw that the first part of the two-part final episode was actually one very long scene. It would be rare for a television episode to be a long scene.

I guess the cast and crew of "Married" was waiting (or possibly hoping) to see if the bigwigs at Fox would renew it for a twelfth season...alas, it was not to be.
