1. I just finished a new biography of Benjamin Franklin by Walter Isaacson. It was very well written, and I think it would be interesting to anyone with an interest in that era.

2. "Presumption of Death" by Perri O'Shaughnessy. I'm in the middle. It's the latest in her Nina O'Reilly detective novels, and they're all pretty good.

3. "To the Nines," by Janet Evanovich. The latest in her Stephanie Plum novels. They're funny stories about an incompetent bail bondsman. Actually, I'm not reading it. I bought it on tape and am listening to it at the gym on the treadmill, so I don't get bored. But, all of her books are extremely funny.

I'm reading "Seabiscuit". I would recommend it. I didn't realize the kind of life those jockey's had to live in those days and some of those horse's must have been treated pretty badly. I wish I could go back in time though and see Seabiscuit run.

I love Janet Evanovich!!! I really want to read this book called Ghost Moon, I'll have to buy it when I go back to the book store. I cant remember the authors name though. I am obsessed with mysteries. I am also reading a book called Desilu ( again) its really good!! I finished Seabiscuit again for the 4th time a few weeks ago.

Hi, Ashley. I take it that you liked "Seabiscuit." I looked up "Ghost Moon" on Amazon, and it gives the author as Karen Robards.

Yes I liked the book alot!! I havent had a chance to see the movie yet though. I havent had time!! :( . Thanks for looking up the authors name for me!

All three were very good (I recommend them all), The Curious Incident being the best. Told from the viewpoint of a highly functional autisitc boy who is trying to find out who killed the neighbor's dog. Funny, sad, and ultimately touching in a non-sentimental way, it's a must read.

I'm reading the Alex Cross series by James Patterson... Along Came a Spider, Kiss The Girls, Jack & Jill, Cat & Mouse, Pop Goes The Weasel, Roses are Red, Violets are Blue, and Four Blind Mice.

Patterson is a great suspense/mystery writer. I enjoy his books a lot.

Back on topic...I'm reading two books about the Titanic - an "Illustrated History" and "Unsinkable: The Full Story." I'd recommend both.

A Walk To Remember..and HELL NO. I do not recommend it. Its the worst book I've ever had to read.

I just finished Tracey Gold's (from Growing Pains) autobiography and yes I recommend it

The Communist Manifesto and I havent read much so I dont know if I would recommend it.

I'm reading a Harlequin Romance ;) LOL. I'm running out of young adult books, and I figured, since my mom is buying these every month, I'll just read em after she does.

I'm about to start "The Matchstick Men"

Danse Macabre- By Stephen King. Usually a book at about 350 pages, I'd have read by now- but I'm still reading this. Recently I've just slowed down reading it- because alot of the book is boring, painful to read and drifts alot away from the points. It's Stephen King writing about the horror genre- at the time he wrote it he'd only published three books (and he constantly uses his book to plug 'Salems Lot) so I'm sure he'd have a lot more to say now- and he'd probably do a better job now. Don't get me wrong some of it is interesting- because of reading this I really wanna go read Rosemary's Baby- some of it is good. But I wouldn't recommend. I think King has a new book now- some of his books now though are more fantasy than horror now, but he's wrote alot of good books too.

No recommendation- 2/5

I LOVE reading autobiographies of TV/movie celebrities - I'll have to look for that the next time I swing by a book store! I LOVED "Growing Pains", so I'll have to remember that. Thanks!

-Horror book, good fun stuff so far.

The Book of Illusions by Paul Auster
-I like it, but not his best.

The Sot-Weed Factor by John Barth
-written in 18th century English style, this is funny, well written satire. Long- almost 800 pages.

I've got to finish one of these instead of reading them all at the same time!!

Now Im reading Portrait of the Artist As A Young Man which I wouldnt recommend at all.

Ive finished Pride and Prejudice and Picture of Dorian Gray and would recommend both of those.

I also just finished Setting the World Ablaze which is a great biography of Washington, Adams, and Jefferson.

I'm reading The Invisible Man by Ralph Ellison. It's okay. It gets kind of boring and the chapters are pretty long, but it's really well written and very descriptive. I don't know if I'd recommend it but it's not a bad book...

BTW, it's for summer reading.

Right now I'm reading a Stephen King book called "The Long Walk." I got it a couple of days ago along with "Four Past Midnight." This novel was written under his pseudonym, Richard Bachman. The book is basicaly about a 16 year old boy named Ray Garraty who, along with 99 other teenage boys, participates in an annual competition called "The Long Walk." This competition has 100 teenage boys walking as far as they can. There are rules in this race. No Walker can go any slower than 4 miles per hour and no Walker may not stumble or sit down. Warnings are issued to Walkers who violate these rules. If an individual is issued a third warning, he gets a ticket and soldiers watching over the Walkers soldiers shoot and kill him. The last surviving Walker wins a huge prize, I think it's a crapload of money. I have read about 5-7 of this author's books and so far this is very different from those.

I'm reading Mere Christianity by C.S. Lewis. I would definitely recommend it.

I just finished The Cather in the Rye and would recommend that if you haven't read it, great book. I'm also reading Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. I'm only on chapter 9 right now but if you like Harry Potter and haven't already read it, I don't know what you're waiting for!

I just finished Dragons of a Fallen Sun by Weis & Hickmen, it was really good but you need to read the other Dragonlance books to understand some of it.

I'm also reading Dune by frank herbert, a classic science fiction book, and The buttlerean Jhaid the prelude to Dune by Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson; I would recomend both of these books because they are very interesting and political.

Thanks for telling me about this. I hadn't heard of it. I read an excerpt online, and it looked great, so I ordered it.

im reading Friday Night Lights right now and its good...some parts are wicked boring tho

I'm reading "My Posse Don't Do Homework" by Louanne Johnson...I would reccomend it. It's a true story and it's also the book that the movie "Dangerous Minds" was based on.

We are having to read the "Scarlet Letter" for our english class. I haven't really gotten into the book that much, so I can't say that I'd recommend it, but its ok.

I'm reading the CSI books at the moment THEY ARE very GOOD :) I highly recommend them

Did you guys read a new book by Stephen King called "Dream Catcher"? Would you recommend it to his fans that haven't read it? I heard it sucked, and I also heard it was good.

anyways they are called (and I"m not sure on the order I just bought all three) "Sin City", "Double Dealer" and "Cold Burn"

I recently finished Loretta Lynn's "STILL WOMAN ENOUGH" book a few weeks ago and I would definately reccomend it to anyone!
