I've got a simple poll here to see how folks feel things will go with the Reunion Special. I'll limit this poll to the topic of Cursing. There will be three options.

maybe i'm an optimist but I voted No cursing. I'll die if I hear Rob Petrie say to Laura, "Look at the ass on that woman."

Well, perhaps I should have explained my definition of "cursing". For me cursing is going to include words like damn and hell. If even those two are uttered, I'd consider that crossing the line. My kids don't need to hear even those "mild" curse words (as some might call them).
I agree concerning your example. I don't expect anything that extreme.

One follow-up. I know there were at least 4 curse words uttered in that half-hour debacle last night. That's why I'm not optimistic about no cursing in the Reunion. While I voted for #3, I'd hope the cursing wouldn't exceed 3 or 4 words thru-out the course of the evening.

I'm an optimist. I voted for zero. I still have faith in Carl.

I really don't care how many curse words are in the reunion. I just hope that Carl will bring the Petries into the 21st century while maintaining the brillance of the original.

OK, Kristen,
I'm with you. I don't know if it's blind faith, but I don't think Carl will betray the Petries that way. Remember, it was he who didn't want to include "Bloopers" from TDVDS on dvd because he wanted people to always see the Petries as they were, according to Doug Denoff.

I'm encouraged by the "faith" that many of you have in Carl to keep this reunion totally family-oriented and family-friendly. Perhaps it was just my initial horror at seeing the now infamous first episode of "The Alan Brady Show" that put me in a pessimisitic mindset.
Of course I don't believe Carl would intentionally change the show from that which it was in the 60's, but only that he might not consider one curse word here, or another there, a "bad" thing. Cursing has become quite an excepted practice today, not just on tv, but in society at large.
Therefore, while I would never think that Carl would purposely corrupt the show, I don't know that he has the same set of strict values that I do. That isn't to say he isn't a good man, or even a moral man. But maybe he won't see anything wrong with a little dialog containing a couple of "mild" curse words in them.
I don't know, but I really hope all you guys are right!
