View Full Version : Damn You Horoscope!

I was having a glorious morning at work. Not too hot, my clothing didn't catch fire, sunblock working fine, when I decided to check out my horoscope in the ol' Daily News..

First part of the horoscope was good news:

"Show business, real estate and communication are good directions for your talent."

Now that's what I like to read. Nurturing stuff that makes me feel good. I have some showbiz aspirations. It's nice to know the stars are supporting me.

Then I read on, and the stars crapped on me:

"Old flame resurfaces with good intentions."

Old flame? Not good! There is only one old flame I can think of, and if you remember things did not end well between us.

I really don't need this right now! I'm over her! I'm feeling good! Walking tall! Eating solid foods!

Yeah, I'm probably paranoid, but in all the years I've known my "old flame" a few times I would get a preminition that I would see her again, and lo and behold, I would run into her, or she would call. Now that it's in writing, my spidey sense is kicking in big time.

What do ya'll think? Do you believe in horoscpoes?
Should I be worried?

;)

Nope. I actually think of them as Horrorscopes. Everything happens the opposite way---when or IF I ever read mine;)

Horoscopes are never accurate for me- only once it was.. but I was reading them from like, YM and Teen--. Im more into the personal astrology than the universal horoscope predictions.

Run. For. Your. Life!!!

Seriously though, I do believe in horoscopes and whenever I read something that makes my eyes turn to saucers, I get a little freaked out, too. ;)

My horoscope never comes true, maybe that is a good thing:lol:

I prefer to read my horoscope the day after (the few times I bother at all). That way I can apply what it says to what actually happened.

Usually little of what it says describes anything from that day, even if I try real hard to make it fit.

You don't have to worry.

Just don't become a self-fulfilling prophecy -don't let yourself make it happen.
(and you know there is something somewhere inside you that wants it to happen, even if just a little bit).

Don't go to the places she might go.
Don't go to the places her friends might go.

Don't call someone who you know talks to her.

And for God's sake don't drink and dial.

That is your mission.

lol I never pay attention to those things, I just read them for fun...which is really what they're intended for.

I read mine sometimes, but I've never, ever taken it seriously.

I have a love hate thing with horroscopes (Libra)- I read mine, not as much now- but they never seem to have relevance. It's impossible that a few lines apply to everyone (though if it's vague enough it can- you will breathe in, then out- you may urinate today)- and a few days ago scientists did studies that they aren't true- but the astroglogers hit back saying their tests weren't fair.

However maybe it's possible that you could meet an astrologist face to face and have your own personal horroscope done- everyone has to have a personal horroscope and path of stars probably.

Though once I did some other psychic test when I was younger- where you closed your eyes and counted to thirty, opened them and the two cards that your eyes are drawn to correspond with initials- and it says you two may soon work in showbiz or something like that, and the initials were of a friend- and for the past year we'd been designing a cartoon or game we'd like to make- a rip-off of pokémon to try get famous... weird....

Yes, but that could lead to that old conundrum used so often in the various "Star Trek" series: What if not doing those things causes a chain reaction that makes me run into her?
What would Picard do?

;)

Anyway, There really is no danger in running into her. The way things ended between us, I don't think she'll be showing up at the places I hang out. This is MY city! The worst that could happen is a phone call, or an e-mail, which I could always ignore.

TJL left that piece of advice out when he quoted you. It's the best advice that you gave him so I thought it might be good idea to place it before him again. Heaven forbid that he should forget?!

Oh believe me, I have learned my lesson when it comes to phoning under the influence.

Friends don't let friends make drunk-ass phone calls.

Here's some graffiti on a New York payphone wall. You need this gentle reminder near all phones when you have a buzz going. ;)

It's a strange picture. I typed 'phone' into my AOL search engine. I wanted to post a huge picture of a phone. I was going to write, 'This is how big the phone seems to get when you're drinking and feel like calling someone.'
Instead, up popped that graffiti picture, so I went with that.

Here's the link if you're interested.
