Sometimes, I've gotten teased or criticized because I love Wings. I get it a lot more on-line than off. Most people I know either like Wings or just don't concern themselves with what other people are watching. I think the people who go on-line and criticize people who have different opinions than them must have pretty dull lives.

actually, I haven't... which is surprising because I get criticized for almost every other show that I've ever liked. lol!
My parents know that I watch it, and my mom just thinks it's funny that I watch it every night. But my parents used to watch it in its first run, so they like the show.
My brother has watched it with me a couple times, but he never really got into it. but he doesn't think I'm weird for watching it or anything.
and one of my friends used to watch it on USA, so he likes the show.. he just thinks that it's funny that it's one of my favorite shows, and that I have to watch it every night, but he doesn't make fun of me or anything. lol.
and one time I had some quotes from the show in my AIM profile, and one of my friends commented about it, so I told him it's one of my favorite shows, but he said that he's never even watched it before.

and no one else besides them, and you guys know that I watch it!

I've never personally been teased for liking "Wings" but there seem to be so many people online who like to put down others because of their likes. These people all need to get a life... and think about that they are hurting other people in the process of trying to build themselves up. I would never even consider going to a message board of a show I didn't like to post mean things to stir up emotions. If anyone who posted negative stuff about "Wings"... I'd just completely ignore them because they're just looking to get a rise out of people.

I agree. I've met more than my fair share. That's why I hardly post at message boards or chat rooms anymore. Too many jerks out there. Just because someone likes your least favorite TV show or hates your most favorite celebrity or something is no reason to insult them.

I guess the anonymity of the Internet brings out the worst in people. It's so much easier to insult words on a screen than a person face-to-face.

I've never gotten teased. Most people I talk to about "Wings" either like it, or have never heard of it before.

I did however, get teased for watching and liking "Perfect Strangers." By a Wings fan, too.

I hardly ever post on message boards either because of all the jerks out there. I never go to chats because of it because I find chats are even worse. I'm so happy at how nice everyone is on this board. :)

Gee, Snoopy, who could you be talking about? Hmmm? Could it be? Satan??? Oh, I mean Sitcom Analyzer? Oh well, same difference, if you ask me. For anybody who hasn't encountered this 'person', he is a very mean spirited pathetic human being(if you can actually call him human), who feels that nobody elses opinion counts but his. On a recent board, he called a female poster a miserable bitch. There's absolutely no reason for that. I'm surprised he hasn't been banned from the boards. We shouldn't have to worry about him on this board because he can't stand Wings. He's the only one I have a problem with. I usually wouldn't go around bad mouthing people I don't know, but he just gets on my nerves.

So, in the answer to your question, I've been lucky, that I haven't had anybody make fun of me for loving WINGS!!!

What exactly is there to beteased about???

Wings is a cool show. It's just like Friends or Cheers, and EVERYONE watches those. There is no big deal.
The shows you should be teased about are "Star Trek" & geeky sci fi trash (no offence) !!;)

sitcoms analyzer.. is this the same guy who pathetically posts on here about the differences between men and women on chit chat........BLAH BLAH BLAH................now theres a guy who can;t get a date

WINGS ROCKS........and i have only been watching it for 3 months :yourock:  :lol:

No, in fact most people who really know me would fully expect me to love "Wings", being that I'm known for loving classic TV comedy from "the old school" ("I Love Lucy", "The Honeymooners", "Dick Van Dyke", etc.). As I've mentioned before, the majority of "Wings" episodes follow that same type of comedy style.

A few months ago our office was installing new screen savers for our computer terminals...and one of the screen savers showed a small, private plane that looked JUST like Joe's "Sandpiper" flying over the ocean.
The office secretary installed that saver on one of the terminals without telling me, and when I came in to work on the computer, everyone kept steering me towards the terminal with the "Sandpiper"-looking screen saver, saying "Sit there...That's YOUR terminal!". I had NO idea what they were talking about...until I saw the screen!

I agree about Solomon/SitcomAnalyzer. I don't like to talk about other posters behind their backs, but that guy is a major *******. I'm surprised he has not been banned yet. He has the honor of being the only person on my "Ignore User" list here. Other than that, I think this is a wonderful on-line community.

I've been to a few other message board sites that were full of SitcomAnalyzers, unfortunately. It wasn't fun.

I can't say that I was teased too much by friends about watching Wings...when it originally aired on NBC most of my friends liked it and nobody hated it......even now when I have friends over while I'm watching it on Nick they seem to enjoy it and laugh along with it.

But the "teasing" part or annoying part that gets to me is the critical reaction to the show. I probably pay too much attention to the stuff and let it get under my skin, but when the show ran on NBC I remember often reading TV critics that would make fun of the show or put it down on some level.....there would be quotes like "amazingly this bland show got picked up for another season"....or..."apparently NBC can't find a replacement for Wings, which is hard to believe"...or ...."Wings, which has remained on the air only because of it's timeslot next to Cheers"....yada, yada....it was ALWAYS stuff like that from the critics and it bothered me. And it certainly didn't help anything when NBC had the 75th anniversary and ignored the show....it just bugs me that a show of such quality gets so little respect.

But, I can't say that I'm not used to it, so the treatment from Nick is nothing new.

hehe anyway, yeah.
no offence taken. hehe

I'm into a lot of older shows too. I'm 21 and when I talk to people my age, they have no idea who Dobie Gillis or Officer Toody are. I'm also a big fan of "Chico and the Man" and No one I work with has heard of that show when I talk about it. TV Land needs to bring it back, so my friends can check it out.

That's why I never pay attention to critics. I don't know how they can bash Wings, but call shows like Friends and Everybody Loves Raymond "Intelligent, quality comedy". puke: I do like Everybody Loves Raymond, but I still find it highly over-rated. Friends, I could live to be 100 and never understand the appeal.

To each his own, I guess.

no-one in Britain would have a clue what WINGS is over here in Britain as Wings was never shown here - except only on cable years ago.
