He was always bumping into things, knocking stuff over, tripping over things. He was hilarious at doing that.

That's right. His pratfalls and physical humor added a lot to the show.

Off topic, but does Jack's hair get lighter as the season's progress? It looks like he dyed his hair.

Jack's hair looked lightest in season 4 to me

I think a lot had to do with Jack's character being very distracted all the time- he LOVES women and is always losing focus because of them (besides living with two).

Plus, getting himself into situations always made him a little nervous and edgy which lead to more clumsiness.
