The girl said she just went to the record store and put in a order for it and in 3 weeks the store told her she could come and pick it up. Does this sound like a lie?

I'd never heard of it being on DVD unless she got it confused with some other show. I would love to know more about the DVD tho. That would be neat to have if it is true...

Sitcom Analyzer, I hate to burst your bubble, and that of every fan on here, but when you want to track down a rumor, go to the source. First I checked Amazon.com, Imdb, and Columbia House and they still show it unavailable, so then I went to Warner Brothers Home Video, they are the ones who hold the licence for the show. They do not have it. So if they don't, it isn't available yet. Sorry someone lied to you. I hate that. IF they are getting it somewhere, it is a bootleg copy, probably made from someones tapes of the show when it was on TVLand. I could do that if I had the DVD burner, but I don't have the $700+ for one.:mad:

Are you sure she isn't ordering the CD of Freddie's comedy album "Loooking Goood"? That is available on CD, many of us have that.

She said she bought it from Tower Records.

I just checked Tower Records online store, NADA. Are you sure she meant CATM??? Maybe it was another show or like I said before, Freddie's comedy album.

She said something about having to go in the store and fill out a order form and then Tower Records will call once the CATM DVD is delivered to the Store

Well all I have to say is she will be waiting a lOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOng time!

Don't get me wrong, when (and I say when, not if!) they finally get wise and release this gem on DVD I will be the first one in line!

If there were CATM DVDs available already, you can bet that one of us regulars here would know about it!!!:D

That's why i think she is lying. She is supposed to bring the DVD over to me soon.

I agree with Luckymama and Karen. I think we would know if it were out...but if for some freaky reason your friend does get it...please keep us informed. It's like wishing for the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow...want it..but more than likely it won't happen. Keep us posted and thanks for the info.

How recent was this that you heard from her? I had done some searching not to long from a distributer and he said that there was no sign of Chico and the Man coming on DVD.

Could this girl possibly have taken CATM VHS tapes to this record store and requested they put it on a DVD for her? Several local record/camera shops here told me they could do that for me if I brought in my tapes. I have been hesitant to do that for fear they would lose or damage my originals. My husband and I recently purchased a DVD burner and we have been trying to transfer our CATM tapes to DVD. So far we haven't had any success because we don't seem to be doing something right. If we get it done and they turn out ok, I'll let you know. :)

Nope, she is trying to say she went to the Tower Records Store and went to the counter to order it and the cashier told her when to pick up the DVD.
