Could the "G" in Maynard G. Krebbs name really stand for "Gilligan" not "Walter"! Wouldn't it have been great if during one of the Dobie or Gilligan reunions we found that Maynard and Gilligan were really the same person. After all, with all the rediculous story lines they used for Maynard in the last season it would have been a natural progression for him to change his beatnik ways by going to Hawaii and becoming a first mate. The shipwreck was just as consistent with Maynard as it was with Gilligan and would also be a better explanation of why Maynard was away from Dobie for many years, as was said in both Dobie reunion shows.
