Bronson 'on His Deathbed'

The family and friends of legendary actor Charles Bronson are gathering together after "The Dirty Dozen" star was given only days to live.

"Death Wish" star Brosnan has been fighting Alzheimer's Disease for the past two years, and suffered organ failure earlier this month.

Doctors tending to the 81-year old have told his family to prepare for the worst and say their last goodbyes to the star.

A relative tells a British paper, "(The Alzheimer's) is heartbreaking. He doesn't know he was an actor, let alone a big star."

The "Great Escape" actor's wife Kim is now making final preparations to bring him home to die as he requested.

A friend adds, "Charlie's wife Kim promised him she would honor his wish to let him die with dignity."

Sorry to hear that. Good actor. Lot of great movies. A couple that come to mind are "Death Wish," and "Once Upon a Time in the West." I wish him luck, as much as possible under the circumstances.

That's really sad, especially when his name was synonymous with being a tough guy.:(

I had no idea he had Alzheimers, that's so sad. He is another great actor I will hate to see leave us. :(

81 years ain't nothing to sneeze at, dear. He doesn't have to prove anything anymore.

It seems we've been lossing a lot of great ones recently. There will always be more great ones to replace them, but there will never be the same great ones.

This is sad news, and I'm sorry to hear of what he and his family are going through right now.

I didn't know he had alzheimer's disease. He was a good actor. I liked his Death Wish III movie. I saw Death Wish IV too but it wasn't that good. I need to rent his first 2 Death Wish movies. I also wanna rent his other early 80's action movies. I never saw any of his western movies. What was his ex wife's name that used to play in his movies with him? Wasn't her first name Jill?

His wife was Jill Ireland, another famous actress, who died about ten years ago from cancer.
