Cleveland, Detroit, and Conmecticut? It's like they don't give a damm if the power is back on in those cities. That bothers me.

I have relatives in the Detroit area, with a 2-month old baby. They have no power, etc.

All the networks seem to care about is NYC. But they aren't the only ones effected. Very one-sided reporting, if you ask me. Lots and lots of favoritism going on.

I agree. New York always gets all the attention. Us Detroiters hardly ever make national news.

Well, it bothers me too when I think about it, but NYC is so much bigger and the risks or anything happening are so much higher. Plus, yes, it wasnt caused by terrorists.. but that doesnt mean they wouldnt take advantage of it. NYC is the biggest target here.

But it's not just a NEW YORK story. Other Major cities are involved.

True. You have a point there. Hillary Clinton said last night that 50 MILLION people people were without power from Detroit to NYC. Still, though, New York alone makes up the majority of the outage last night. And it was a scare, thinking it might be related to terrorism. This isn't the first time this has happened in NY - the last time there was a major power outage there was in July 1977.

Sigh...That's the media for ya. I really wish they would have covered the other areas, too. :( If I had been a reporter at this time yesterday, I would have pushed for a lot more coverage of the other areas. =/

I would also like if the US media cared about Toronto and Ottawa. The news coverage up here has US cities also included. Like who cares about Canada...I hate that.

There's still a lot of people in the other cities, such as Detroit, Toledo, Cleveland, Erie, Toronto, and Ottawa. NYC's population is roughly 8 million. All the other cities combined is around 4.5 million. That's half the population of NYC, but still, a hell of a lot of people. Plus, NYC has gained like 75% of it's power, while places such as Detroit and Cleveland are left without power AND water. I think that Detroit and Cleveland are in more of a health hazard than NYC is right now, so the media should stop reporting on NYC, since the people seem to be getting back to their normal lives.

Exactly. I prefer to watch CBC news to hear what's happening in Toronto and Ottawa. I think CBC mentioned the US cities, too. But, America doesn't comment on Canada . It's too bad America doesn't seem to give a crap about Canada. It's like, "Hello! Remember us? Your northern neighbours?"

They must feel that the bigger story is in New York, they are focusing on that since 9-11 especially since at first they thought it might be terrorists.

Where I live, they were talking about Cleveland alot, and the other cities, even up in Canada.

I live in Shelby, about an hour north of Detroit. And yes I was affected. Our power was out from 4:00 PM Thursday until 10:00 AM Friday. I left my house at 4:30 on Thursday to take my brother to work before I knew how big the power outage was and it took me an hour and a half to get him there when it usually only takes 15 minutes.

The media is in NY, and they're too lazy to do anything but look out their windows.:rolleyes:
